Content Writer

Primitives by Kathy
September, 2017 – Present (about 1 year)

A Content Writer in the Marketing department responsible for product copy, both for own website and the websites of Key Account partners (Bed, Bath & Beyond, Nordtrom, Hautelook, Hallmark, etc.). I also write copy for and proofread all print and digital catalogs. Nothing beats holding your polished work in your hands (am I right?). From time to time, I write blog posts to be featured on our website as well.

Copywriter & Web Production Assistant

South Moon Under
September, 2015 – August, 2017 (almost 2 years)

E-commerce copywriter for all product inventory for a fashion website, in addition to uploading all copy and images to the website, building emails, troubleshooting... I could go on, but I'll spare you the nitty gritty duties and details.

Freelance Editor & Proofreader

Self-employed
December, 2014 – Present (almost 4 years)

I was supposed to be a high school English teacher when I graduated, but instead, I packed my bags, grabbed my best friend, and moved to Thailand (before it was the trendy thing to do). We taught English for a semester and then backpacked Southeast Asia for almost 3 months.

While I was away, I realized I didn't want to become a teacher. Nothing at all against teachers because quite honestly, I'm not tough enough. I came home and decided to follow my passions and my skills to make a career for myself I would love. I started on Elance, then quickly left Elance, and now I find my work through the connections I make and the people I meet! I've been extremely lucky in finding one author who has become my mentor, as everything she writes is everything I need to read: Monika Kanokova. I've worked with her on all three of her published guides for freelancers, and am looking forward to helping more authors deliver their messages!
