How do I plan a novel with Reedsy Studio?
We built Reedsy Studio to be an all-in-one writing tool, which includes a story planner. One of Reedsy Studio’s best features is a unique feature called Boards which allows you to visualize the roadmap of your book, and refer to it anytime while you write.
What are Boards?
You can think of Boards as a canvas for planning and outlining your manuscript. Each board contains folders and cards, which you can use as creatively as you’d like. From character profiles to scene cards, the world (and the board) is your oyster. If you’re too busy writing to create a board from scratch, no problem! We provide ready-made community templates (for instance, a Hero’s Journey structure template) for you to download anytime.
How many Boards can I create?
All users can create as many Boards as they like. To link notes and Boards together with attributes and relationships to link notes together, you can upgrade to Outline.
Can I share my Boards with a collaborator?
Not yet, though this is a planned feature for the future. Meanwhile, if you want us to add a particular template to the tool, please let us know by filling in this form
Is Reedsy Studio free?
Studio’s core writing and formatting functions are free — and they always will be. To access all our planning features, including a curated gallery of templates, upgrade to Outline.
