Debra Madden

Debra Madden – Editor

Freelance writer, editor, and blogger with a special interest in medical and health topics, though I also focus on additional topics

Overview

My professional experience includes more than 20 years of content writing, editing, proofreading, and blogging on multiple topics, with a special interest in scientific and medical topics, including behavioral health, oncology, neurology, health and wellness, clinical research, public health, advocacy, and more for consumers, healthcare providers, patients, clinical investigators, and other visitors and audiences.

Though my primary focus is on medical and health topics, I also write, edit, and blog on a wide range of topics, including small business, pets (primarily dogs, also a huge passion of mine!), advocacy, safety, politics, history, customer service, human resources topics, and more for consumers, advocates, healthcare providers, researchers, patients, pet owners, voters, and other visitors and audiences.

I have a sincere love for the written word and enjoy nothing more than "getting into the zone," researching new and complex topics and making them much more accessible, comprehensive, and actionable for readers and visitors.

For a sample of my work, please see my journal article entitled "From a Patient Advocate's Perspective: Does Cancer Immunotherapy Represent a Paradigm Shift?" in PubMed.

For a listing of my favorite, "can't live without" resources as a writer, please see the Books section below.
