Overview

I understand that writing is a very personal journey and your manuscript deserves to be treated with the utmost respect and care. It takes courage to allow someone to review your work and can make you feel vulnerable to constructive criticism. However, by taking the time to get to know and trust each other, we can work collaboratively to refine your vision and bring your project to life.

I'm a skilled publishing professional with a career spanning 30+ years' at several major academic publishers in the Boston, Massachusetts area (USA). I have a wealth of experience with all aspects of academic (higher ed) and professional publishing with special expertise in technical disciplines. I also possess years of experience (and a special fondness for) working with authors for whom English is their second (or third, or fourth..) language. I find this type of collaboration particularly rewarding and am sensitive to the unique challenges that can arise when working cross-culturally.

Over the years, I have managed hundreds and hundreds of titles and I'd like to share a couple with you that I feel represent my greatest accomplishments:

1. Computer Science Illuminated by Nell Dale and John Lewis.
I was integral to the original creation of the author team as well as an active contributor to the development of the outline/TOC, the art program, the text/cover designs, etc. This award-winning, highly successful title is now in its 7th Edition.

2. Advanced Engineering Mathematics by Dennis Zill.
I managed the complicated production process across several editions of this best-selling, award-winning title.

In addition to my career in academic publishing, I have authored and managed all phases of production/printing of my own self-published title in the health and wellness genre:
Get Angry, Get Healthy: Your 6-Week Jumpstart to Kicking the Processed Food Habit, Losing Weight, and Increasing Personal Well-Being

Work experience

Founder and President

Self-employed
June, 2018 – Present (about 2 years)

The team at Amy Rose Consulting (ARC) has first-hand experience with the transition of work to offshore suppliers. As both the expertise and the relationships become more robust, the number of projects that are offshored is growing exponentially. Although the offshore model has proven to be quite successful, working internationally comes with its own unique challenges. These can include miscommunication, misunderstandings, and assumptions arising from cultural and language differences and barriers. We have learned that the most successful solutions are derived from close collaboration between the customer and the supplier.

Our mission at ARC is to work with our customers to craft a customized solution that is efficient, cost-effective, and leverages the skill sets of both the onshore and offshore teams. We’re excited to work collaboratively with you, in a truly international context, and look forward to assisting you to Maximize Your Potential!
