Independent editor and professional writer with nearly a decade of experience and a knack for detail
I worked as the layout artist for the CCP literary magazine, organizing both the content and design elements that went into each issue. I created the graphic elements within the issues and designed the cover for each. I also was their copyeditor; I oversaw the final edits for each bio and short story that went into the issue and made the necessary grammatical and punctuation corrections before formatting them. I created a template for the magazine and served as their overall layout artist.
During my time as an independent editor, I've worked with both published and unpublished authors on manuscripts, short stories, poetry, synopses, and more. I specialize in copy and line editing, but my most popular services include developmental editing, full manuscript coaching, and one-on-one workshops. I've also served as a beta reader for many friends and fellow writers. I hold a degree in professional writing from Purdue University, and I have a background in psychology, German, and science. I use the latest edition of the Chicago Manual of Style for all my edits.
I worked as a technical writer and data analyst for Teleflex, a medical supply company. My duties included editing company documents, recording meeting minutes, analyzing data and creating charts from them, managing projects, writing software tutorials, and handling Engineering Change Orders, or ECOs. I quit my position to be a stay-at-home mom and to pursue work as an independent editor.
