Michele Orwin

Michele Orwin – Editor

In addition to being a book coach, I'm also an author, editor, publisher, teacher. I've had two novels published.

Overview

I'm a book coach with more than 25 years of experience. I love working with authors of novels and memoirs. I am also an Author Accelerator Certified Advanced Book Coach. Most of my recent experience has been working with writers on memoirs, historical and contemporary novels. I can't promise you'll find an agent or a publisher, although many of the writers I've worked with have found both. But I can promise I'll work with you until you've completed a draft you're happy with.

Work experience

Self-employed

Nov, 2012 — Present

I started Bacon Press Books as a small, independent press to help authors re-issue their already published titles in paperback and eBook. We have also published some original fiction and nonfiction.

Self-employed

Jan, 1988 — Present

After my first novel, Waiting for Next Week, was published by Henry Holt & Co., I began teaching college writing and conducting creative writing workshops at colleges, universities, and writers centers. I've been working with authors for more than 25 years as a developmental editor and a book coach. For the past two years, I have been an advanced certified book coach at Author Accelerator working mostly with novelists and memoirists. I am now starting my own book coaching company. I also have a small press, Bacon Press Books, dedicated to re-issuing books in paperback and digital that have already been published in hardcover. I have had two novels published, one under a pen name; several short stories, and award-winning speeches and articles. Many of the authors I've worked with have gone on to publish their books.
