📚Overview
Writing a series not only gives you more space to develop character arcs and intricate worlds, but it can be a fantastic marketing strategy for indie authors. And if you’re going down the traditional publishing route, a stand-alone book with series-potential can make you more attractive to publishers.
In this special two-part workshop, Lisa Edwards (the publisher behind Hunger Games and His Dark Materials) and George Jreije (acclaimed sci-fi and fantasy editor) will teach you how to create characters with room to grow, build worlds that can sustain new storylines, and keep your series feeling fresh across multiple installments.
By the end of this event, you’ll have the tools to create a rich and captivating series that keeps readers coming back, one book after another.

How to Pitch a Series That Sells
Pitching the first book in a series means selling both the book in front of you and the promise of everything that comes next. Drawing from her experience publishing Hunger Games and His Dark Materials, Lisa will give a comprehensive breakdown of everything you need to do to successfully pitch a series, from crafting a query letter and synopsis that sell your story as a must-have brand, to making sure that your sample chapters leave publishers eager to read more.
