Lauren Hurrell – Editor

I have five years of work experience in editing, proofreading and copywriting. I have a degree in English Literature with Film from King's College London, an MA in Publishing from UCL, and a Level 1 Proofreading Charted Institute of Editors and Proofreaders Award. My current role as a proofreader in Shoreditch focuses on short-form content, which has given me the opportunity to use my spare time to prioritise long-form and novel editing. I have previously worked in-house in the book publishing industry across fiction, non-fiction and children's books. I have also carried out extensive research in queer theory and am keen to proofread any writing that covers this topic.

I have extensive writing experience across social media marketing, blog writing and am writing a novel of my own in my own time. I manage a creative arts blog called Read The Muse ( which I create all content for and manage all social media platforms for. I have my own website (lvhurrell.com) for more personal blog writing and I have an extensive following on social media, with over 1,200 followers on Instagram and over 1,500 on Twitter, which I am willing to use professionally to share authors' work.
