Janet Angelo - Editor

Florida, USA

Janet Angelo has more than a decade of experience as a freelance editor and is the founder, editor, and publisher of IndieGo Publishing.

Overview

Independent authors are the driving force in the publishing industry today. To stand out in the crowd, self-publishing authors need to make sure their books are well written, professionally edited, beautifully designed, and published worldwide as print books and ebooks. I can do that for you. Many authors have said I'm the best editor they've ever worked with.

Take a look at my portfolio here on Reedsy, just a sampling of the hundreds of books I've worked on. I'm proud that the books I edit routinely earn 4- and 5-star reviews!

Once I've edited your book in collaboration with you, I can format it, design the interior and cover, and distribute it worldwide through Lightning Source/Ingram and CreateSpace for the paperback version, and through Apple, Google Play, Kindle, Kobo, and Nook for the ebook.

When you start making sales, I will pay you 75% of your book royalties on time, every three months.

There's no better way to bring your writing to market than to partner with a friendly, knowledgeable, and very experienced editor and indie publisher. Let me know how I can help you with your book today!

Work experience

Book Editor

Self

May, 2005 – Present (over 11 years)

Since 2005, I have edited nearly three hundred books, fiction and nonfiction, for independent authors. (Please see above for a list of books I've edited since 2005, but there have been more.) I have also edited hundreds of academic dissertations and theses, as well as scholarly journal articles. I love working collaboratively with authors to make their books the best they can be.

My experience as a freelance editor is unique because I have always edited books by independent authors, which is why I understand their needs so well. Many freelance editors have only ended up working freelance because they lost their positions in the traditional publishing industry, and they will always have the trad-pub mindset. I truly understand the challenges and joys that independent authors experience, and I am uniquely positioned to work in partnership with them to develop their books from rough-draft manuscripts to perfectly edited, designed, and published books.

I formed IndieGo Publishing in May 2011 after spending many years editing and formatting book manuscripts for self-publishing authors. Since 2008, authors had asked if I could publish their books after I edited them, and I wanted to be able to say, "Yes, I can do that for you!" The first book I published was The Eating Enigma by Simon Frost, and IndieGo Publishing was born. I believe my company fills a unique niche in the publishing industry. I offer expert services in manuscript editing, formatting, and book interior as well as cover design, and I publish my books with worldwide distribution through Lightning Source/Ingram, CreateSpace, and the five major ebook vendors: Apple, Google Play, Kindle, Kobo, and Nook. I promote my authors' books in conjunction with their efforts to build a loyal base of readers.

I truly enjoy perfecting the written word, designing beautiful books, and helping authors achieve their publishing goals.
