Todd Hunter

Todd Hunter – Editor

A Big 5 alum who has worked on bestselling and award-winning books. I'm happy to consider nonfiction works up to 25,000 words.

Overview

I spent a decade at Atria Books - Simon and Schuster where I played an integral role in the editing and publishing of dozens of books including award-winners and bestsellers – fiction and nonfiction. I’m at home when collaborating on voice-driven narratives and I enjoy getting into the weeds of structural development. My editorial repertoire also includes short self-help ebooks across a wide range of topics including business and leadership, relationship, health/wellness, and tech.

Throughout my career, I’ve been committed to expanding underrepresented voices and publishing books that are entertaining and resonating socially and intellectually.

My working philosophy is to understand, inform, and empower the author. When I’m doing my editor thing, breakthrough or Aha! moments are not uncommon. Some may call it book magic.

I actually expected a little more considering the amount of money that I paid for the project. Although I have not timely completed all of the changes recommended by the editor. It feels like I have to start my book project all over from the beginning and not making much progress.

Mr. Hunter did an excellent job of editing my stories. Specifically I liked the way he challenged me to further develop my characters which of course develops and improves the whole story.
