Overview
Along with over 5 years of active membership in the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, I have been the Lead Children's Book Designer and Art Director for an independent book publisher based out of Austin, Texas for the last 2 years. I am proficient in design and illustration with a keen eye for detail and have a thorough knowledge of the children's/young adult publishing industry, as well as experience managing projects from concept development/story ideation all the way through to print production.
I can provide a range of services including: Illustration, interior layout and cover design, branding, and project management. I'm always excited to tackle any interesting project, but primarily specialize in children's picture books, middle grade, young adult, graphic novels, classic literature, fantasy, horror, historical fiction, and LGBTQ fiction. I am particularly inspired by fantastical folklore, haunting historical tales, and stories about women doing awesome stuff throughout history, so I would especially love to take on projects involving these sorts of topics.
While I am an artist at heart with lots of creativity, I am also extremely Type-A, so any project I work on is carefully organized and scheduled with every detail planned out and deadlines thoughtfully set to ensure success. I also thrive on the collaborative process and love working with other creatives to bring a truly unique book to life.
I'd love to hear about how I can help with your project!
