Hello, I'm Maya!
A petite maker of charming things looking to bring a small smile or laugh.
Currently, I concentrate on children's illustration - from picture books, hand lettering, and covers.
And before moving to Seoul, I worked as a children's book designer at Penguin Young Readers.
I mainly focused on designing fiction trade books:
-novel interiors (choosing fonts, designing the layout, and typesetting)
-picture books (designing the full jacket and interior)
I love looking for the right fonts to match the narrative of the book and typically worked on novel interiors with a tight deadline.
If you need any kind of design or illustration help for a children/YA book, I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
My friends also know me for food recommendations and big sweet tooth.
Instead of only eating, I draw my food too at mogumogueats.wordpress.com.
This has led to food related projects for Chronicle Books and Remedy Quarterly.
So if you need any kind of food illustrations, please don't hesitate to contact me as well!
