Overview
Finally, I graduated to editing, professionally.
2015: I edited a book-length manuscript for a non-native English speaking author to give a more general American tone to the language.
2016: I edited the text for a website under construction, Crow Practice.
2017: I edited the first audiobook I narrated and produced for ACX, a text by an admittedly “quirky writer,” Commoner, the Vagabond: a novel.
2018: I completed narration/production of 5 audiobooks for which I did a very different type of editing: I edited audio tracks in a Digital Audio Workstation (DAWS), Cubase Elements 9.5 . . . but I digress from text editing.
2019 was filled with a Developmental Edit of a 117,000w YA fantasy novel, Visions of a Kingdom’s Fall which is in the copy editing process.
2020: I edited a Health Ministry Nomination; an unrelated blogpost; collaborated on a Ministry resume.
I continue auditioning for audio book Narrator/Producer projects and accepting clients as Developmental, Line, Copy Editor, and Proofreader for written texts.

I taught students to compose memoir, fiction narratives, poetry, speeches and essays for 35 years in high school and several years in college and as a tutor for college and high school students. Recently, I’ve assisted HS students in distance-learning. In addition to composition, I led students to analyze literature: its story line arc, metaphorical language, characterization, symbolism, description of setting and character, and the vividness of its language.
My colleagues sought me out to edit their written communications because they had discovered my exceptional knowledge of language rules and my willingness to help them craft and improve their writing. In 1989 I began a business to narrate and produce audio books for broadcast on radio and produced Julie, Catherine Marshall's final novel published after her death. This audio book was aired on a Somerset, KY radio station and made available to libraries by North Star Audio Books. Retired from public school teaching in 2015, I began editing books and auditioning to narrate and produce audio books. I can help authors with Developmental edits, Line edits-sentence by sentence, Copyedits and final Proofreading. I'm confident I can help you bring your text to a polished glow.
