Kevin Barrett Kane - Designer

Kansas City, MO, United States

Book designer and publishing consultant for award-winning and best-selling book covers and interiors.

Overview

Reviews (1)

I offer comprehensive design and publishing solutions for authors and publishers who are looking for exceptional quality book covers and interiors. As a designer, my values are deeply rooted in the value of the book as art object. I do not subscribe to the idea that a book cover and interior should be handled by different departments or even different designers, and have sought to reverse this trend through content-responsive design on full book packages, including cover, interior, and eBook design. I have a background in printmaking, editing, and writing, as well as over 6 years of design experience in publication design. I consistently work with large publishing clients and independent authors on everything from self-publishing to large-scale offset print runs—there's no job too big or too small for consideration.

Walden, or; A Life in the Woods

Henry David Thoreau

A sturdy individualist and a lover of nature, Henry David Thoreau was typical of his time and place--an epitome of the Yankee spirit. In March, 1845, he set out to live life in a new way. Borrowing an ax, he built himself a wooden hut on the edge of Walden Pond, near Concord, Massachussetts, where he lived until September, 1847. Walden is a record of that experiment in simple living.
