Recent projects include serving as editorial and creative director for the digital books Yosemite: A Storied Landscape, Russian California (also produced in hardback), Reef Fishes of the East Indies, and A Wild Flight of the Imagination: The Story of the Golden Gate Bridge. I collaborated with Lisa Gansky on her bestselling business book, The Mesh: Why the Future of Business is Sharing (Penguin), was the principal author for Wayne Miller Photographs 1942-1958 (Powerhouse), and edited and wrote the introduction to Witness in Our Time ( Smithsonian and Random House).

Forthcoming titles I've edited include Privacy on the Ground: Driving Corporate Behavior in the United States and Europe by Kenneth A. Bamberger and Deirdre K. Mulligan (MIT Press) and Plastic Reason: The Anthropology and Evolution of Brain Science in Embryogenetic Terms (UC Press).

As a writer, one of my more rewarding experiences was a San Francisco magazine investigative report that resulted in the dismissal of the corrupt executive director of the Trust at San Francisco’s Presidio and was a National Magazine Award finalist. I have written for many national and local publications, and served as an editor for numerous bestselling authors, including Paul Hawken, Paul Krugman, Louis Menand, and Richard Rodriguez, as well as artists and photographers, including Matt Groening, Sebastiao Salgado and Susan Meiselas. I have also curated photography exhibitions in Mexico, France, and the U.S., and was co-curator of Yosemite: A Storied Landscape, a recent exhibition at the California Historical Society.
