An experienced graphic designer having worked on print, digital and broadcast projects over the past 30 years
Through Almon I've worked on numerous books – some projects have been for full cover and internal page design while others have been for cover design only. I also transfer printed book files into e-books as epub and mobi files.
Responsible for creating, developing and co-ordinating the visual identity of all the elements of Sain – this meant designing independent logos and identities for various sub-labels and company divisions. Designing covers and booklets for CD, DVD and CD-Rom for artists in a wide range of genres – classical, folk, middle-of-the-road, choral, rock, experimental; catalogues, adverts, pamphlets, posters and marketing banners of all shapes and sizes. Responsibility for the technical specifications and requirements of every computer file sent out to printers.
Designed title sequences and graphic elements for television programmes. Directed camera and lighting work on a studio floor when required to create special imagery for programme titles. Worked on live broadcasts, feeding names and information direct to screen. Productions were mainly broadcast on S4C but also worked on programmes seen on BBC, ITV, Channel 4.
Started by working on layouts using a drawing board, ink, card and wax as well as in a darkroom on reprographic work but over time I started to design more and more.
