I'm a published author (short stories) specialising in short fiction, novels and children's fiction. I also undertake ESL editing.

Overview

I've been a freelance science editor for nine years and have worked with large and small publishers. Since moving into fiction-writing and editing, I have drawn on my scientific background to give science fiction and speculative fiction that authentic edge.

I also edit academic papers, books and articles in a wide range of disciplines and specialise in helping those for whom English is a second language (ESL).

Before this I was a research associate at the University of Cumbria and the Institute of Terrestrial Ecology (now Lancaster Environment Centre [LEC]).
