Overview

I am an experienced professional freelance copy editor with particular expertise in working with English as a Second Language (ESL) authors. My areas of focus are academic editing (for graduate students as well as established scholars) across a wide range of disciplines in the social sciences, humanities, environmental studies, as well as nonfiction and nonprofit sector editing in areas related to international development and natural resource management. In addition, I have edited fiction (a book of short stories). I provide basic and substantive editing services, as well as guidance on content and structure of academic and other manuscripts. I am also available for expert reviews of manuscripts prior to publication.

I edit a wide assortment of academic manuscripts within diverse science and social science disciplinary fields. These range from journal articles written by established scholars to graduate students' theses and doctoral dissertations. I also provide authors with tutorial comments, when requested, on how to improve grammar and writing style.
Accomplishments:
I have often received positive feedback from the company's senior editor, including on the company's intranet site, and have been awarded "gold" feedback (signifying excellence) for assignments.
Skills Used:
My work demonstrates advanced editing skills and the ability to communicate clearly with ESL writers through comments and explanations provided with each document.
