I have been providing editorial support in a number of capacities since graduating from Indiana University in 2012. My food journalism degree translated into a career in food copywriting and social media content, before officially moving over to book publishing at John Wiley and Sons in 2014. Since then, I have strengthened my skills in editorial project management, developmental editing, copyediting, book and cover copy, proofreading, and other editorial administrative support as needed. I also have been providing developmental editing support to friends outside of work for creative and personal projects since 2016, namely on comedic short stories, erotic and romantic fiction, fanfiction, and personal essays.
I thrive on bringing text to life with strategic developmental editing and copyediting. Whether you're looking to enlighten and educate your audience for their career growth, or immerse readers in a world of your creation through sensory description and biting wit, I'm ready and excited to help you polish your project and bring it fully into the world.
I manage several book projects from acquisition and signing to manuscript submission. I support authors with queries, deadlines, marketing and sales information, and permission queries. I also collaborate with our internal team to review copy and marketing information for our distribution services.
I provide administrative support to the journals editors and ensure that all materials for review are fully double-blinded before assigned to reviewers. I also help work with authors to create and curate content for our nursing websites.
I provided administrative support to the president by reviewing buy-in manuscripts for UK to US English changes, image permissions, and other copyediting needs. I also provided editorial support to the Food and Drink team and the Lifestyles team for titles involving recipes and quantities of ingredients. Additionally, I wrote and scheduled content for our blog and social media channels in tandem with our marketing team.
I managed the editorial database for roughly 400 ISBNs within the Common Core ELA and Math curriculum titles for the Jossey-Bass K-12 Education team. I worked with various organizations and partnerships, in tandem with my vice president and publisher and my acquisitions editor, to ensure all materials were delivered in a timely manner. I managed permissions and rights for the Religion and Spirituality line, providing support and materials to authors as needed. I also helped edit and manage permissions for a number of other titles within my line, and reviewed manuscripts for submission. Additionally, I provided support to the marketing team with online and book copy, and assisted with contract clauses and production queries.
