Lisa Cerasoli

Lisa Cerasoli – Editor

Strengths: development to polish. Genre: self-help, memoirs, faith-based books, comedy. Writer of movie treatments and scripts!

Overview

Nothing excites me more than a great story. With 10+ years of success, I've written, developed, edited, and managed the production of over 500 books worldwide, including a self-help series with a NYT bestselling author and various genres—historical fiction, thrillers, comedic memoirs, inspirational—with Amazon bestselling authors. For fun, let's call it my side hustle, I adapt books to film and develop proposals and pilots for authors interested in selling to Hollywood; this has led to meetings and options with companies such as Sony, AMC, HBO, RicheProductions, M2M Entertainment. I have a knack for story structure and dialogue. My biggest strength is that I work on every project as if it were my own. I care more than the next guy! It's a privilege and pleasure to collaborate with authors and make their dreams of publishing a reality.

Work experience

Self-employed

Jan, 2013 — Present

• Editor and Writer with 15+ years' experience
• Founder/President of 529 Books
Although creative nonfiction defines 50 percent of the projects, I also edit fiction and a fair amount of projects that have film/TV potential, which is why I write (or coach writers) on how to create movie treatments, proposals, and scripts (see Story Merchant Books).
I've authored (and have had published) two books on Alzheimer's, a how-to on writing a story that sells, a romance, and juvenile fiction.
Co-author of Piece of Cake: My Wild Adventure from Banking to Baking, Educating Marston: A Mother's Journey with Autism, The Gift of Will, Lucky Number Nine (see gallery), and Through Fire and Rain: A Story of Love, Music, Modern Medicine, and Surviving Terminal Brain Cancer (Coming, Fall 2016).

As a freelance editor, ghostwriter, and screenwriter at Story Merchant, I dedicate my energy, management, editorial skills, and visionary focus to helping writers move their careers forward. I also have the opportunity to be a liaison between authors and Hollywood producers—creating proposals, movie treatments, scripts, pitching and selling book rights where applicable.
