Overview

I love books.

I've been working with words since 1999.

First, as an award-winning journalist, then in marketing communications, public relations, and website content and design (more awards for all of those), including blogging, social media, and content marketing. Since 2014, I've focused on book editing and consulting.

I've published eight books of my own and have helped many authors successfully write, edit, format, and publish their own work.

As a fellow writer, I know what it's like to be in the process -- and how important it is to have a team to lift you up and help you through it.

I'm an active part of my writing community, the chair of the Eugene chapter of Willamette Writers, as well a member of the Alliance of Independent Authors and Wordcrafters in Eugene. I regularly attend writing conferences and keep up with what's happening in the industry.

I'm currently working on an autofiction novel set in Barbados, West Indies, where I spent several formative years, as well as a slew of personal essays about personal growth and development.

My strongest skills:

Strategic: I understand what makes a story work.

Great attention to detail: Which you need in proofreading.

Technical savvy: I know how to make Microsoft Word do amazing things. Plus I'm proficient in Adobe InDesign and PhotoShop

Compassionate: Getting edits on your work can be emotionally hard. I nurture my writers and help their work shine.

Huge book reader: I was the kid who loved nothing more than getting a stack of books for Christmas and would then read them all by New Year's Day. I've been marinating in words and stories since I learned to read.

Some things about me you to know:

My pronouns are they/them. I'm non-binary and queer.

Projects I love working on:
Memoir and creative non-fiction
Personal growth and development
Themes of grief, loss, and adversity
Gender identity and transgender characters and issues
Spirituality that lives outside of the Judeo-Christian religions
