Overview

I'm a ghostwriter, author, editor and journalist specialising in memoir. My two travel memoirs about my adventures at sea are published by Bloomsbury (Casting Off – which reached #1 in its category on Amazon on publication day – and Untie the Lines). I've worked as an editor for magazines and newspapers including The Independent and the Daily Express and I am currently studying for an MA on the highly-regarded creative writing programme at UEA while querying with my debut novel.

Working freelance, I've run workshops on writing memoir, life writing, and editing for clients including the University of Nottingham, Derbyshire County County, Derby Book Festival and Mantle Arts, helping writers to shape and improve their stories – particularly memoir.
I've also done developmental edits (including an early draft of The Girl Before You) and copy edits on a variety of manuscripts, from memoir to novels (literary fiction, genre fiction, historical fiction) and short stories (humour, literary fiction).
