Sara Thwaite - Editor

New York, NY

Collaborative editor at major NYC publisher specializing in adult fiction, story collections, biography & memoir.

Overview

As a freelance editor, I've worked on everything from celebrity memoir to literary fiction. I love to find a project that’s as exciting for me to edit as it was for the author to write it. If something makes me laugh out loud or not want to turn the lights out and go to sleep, it’s for me! I can offer clients a unique perspective as I have extensive experience on both the agency and publishing sides of the industry. I know what agents are looking for when they read your query letter and those crucial first five pages, and what it takes to land a book deal with a great editor and house. Whether you’re looking for a developmental edit, a heavy copyedit, or a light proofread, I’m interested in working with you to determine what’s best for you and your work.
