As a freelance editor, my mission is to help authors craft compelling novels. I use my education and experience as a literary student and teacher to coach authors into creating a better book. I enjoy working with authors through the multiple stages of the editing process, filling plot holes, creating compelling characters, crafting dialogue and energetic action scenes, and sub-creating worlds that readers can get lost in. I also work with nonfiction authors to clean up their prose and make the writing flow eloquently and powerfully.
With my background as a start-up entrepreneur and social media marketer, I also help authors market themselves on social media. I work with them to craft a brand, establish a presence, and build an online audience, starting with their professional goals and developing a strategy to help them reach those goals.
My clients have said,
"I appreciate all your help. You were just what I needed... You don't know my story but have a writing background to help polish it. I am sure we will be working together again... my secret weapon... You gave me hope and helped me accomplish my dream."
"Great work! Very quick and professional!"
"Thank you so much for your valuable feedback and quick turnaround. I really appreciate the comments that you made and feel that it will help me to make the book even better."
“Thanks again for your help. Your comments and suggestions in the document are perfect. Exactly what I needed. I couldn't be more pleased with it.”
“Lauren was awesome to work with. She got the job done quick and did a fantastic job. I couldn't be happier with the results and I hope to work with her again in the future.”
I coached hundreds of middle school and high school students in grammar, reading, creative poetry and prose, critical thinking, oral communications, and composition. A number of them have gone on to become self-published authors.
