I've worked in book publishing for years, acquiring and editing poetry and nonfiction, and I have some experience on the agency side as well. I work with mostly narrative nonfiction: researched/journalistic work, history, essays, or memoir, with a strong preference for work by marginalized creators. I've also read a good amount of literary fiction and short story submissions for publication and for Best American Short Stories. I'm happy to work with you on your manuscript, query letter, and/or give publishing advice!

I'm a thorough developmental editor--I'm here to provide close reads on your manuscript, suggest cuts or additions, talk about organization, and tackle any other questions you may have. Depending on the project, I can offer revisions in track-changes, an editorial letter, and then a call to discuss the project and potential next steps in terms of publication.
