Project:
New abridged, modernised and illustrated version of Martin Rattler by RM Ballantyne, published by Merchiston Publishing and aimed at 8 to 12 year old children.

Publisher:
Merchiston Publishing is an arm of the Scottish Centre for the Book based at Edinburgh Napier University.

Role:
Responsible for the production chain (proofreading, layout, flatplan, design, cover, illustrations, ebook) as well as liasing with printer.
Management of production team of six.
Design of marketing material.
Role in the decision-making process for both production and editorial.

Digital Designer and Co-editor

Publishers Inc
January, 2015 – Present (over 2 years)

Project:
Publishers Inc is a magazine for Edinburgh Napier University MSc Publishing alumni and publishing industry professionals published as a digital magazine app.

Role:
Tasks ranging from content creation (articles, illustrations, icons and thumbnail) to the actual design of the app (branding, navigation, interactivity).
Proofreading and copy-editing of all articles.
Online editor role (writing, proofreading and scheduling).

Editions Calepin is a small French publisher based in Paris, specialising in Young Adult fiction and children's literature.

Role:
Role involves selecting manuscripts for future publications as well as liasing with authors, readers and bloggers.
Editorial tasks include copy-editing but also substantive editing and writing blurbs.
Also worked with illustrators on the design of children's books.
