Hire the best autobiography, biography, and memoir ghostwriters

Many of the memoirs, biographies, or autobiographies on bestseller shelves and lists are actually written by ghostwriters. These anonymous professionals work closely with the credited author of a memoir, ensuring that their client’s voice carries over into a manuscript, sharing their life story in an attention-grabbing way.

A ghostwriter is not the same as an editor, who can present suggestions to you without any input. Hiring a memoir ghostwriter is much more collaborative work: for someone to be able to tell your story, you’ll have to provide them with answers to a number of questions about your life and personal path. To be able to speak in your true voice, a memoir ghostwriter needs access to information about your emotions, thoughts, and feelings relating your experiences, as well as details about specific events in your past and how they affected you. Especially in the case of autobiographies, it’s important to include first-hand experiences and reflections in your book, to increase the authenticity of your narrative.

To hire a biography, autobiography, or memoir writer, turn to Reedsy. Our marketplace of publishing professionals is home to over a hundred experienced ghosts — many of whom have written successful memoirs, autobiographies, and biographies of actors, athletes, and former presidents. While many of them have written for celebrities, you don't have to be famous to hire a ghostwriter.

Sign up for your free Reedsy account and check out their profiles, portfolios, reviews from past clients who have made use of their memoir ghostwriting services, and to ask any questions relating to money and royalties. Request a quote from one of our biography or memoir ghostwriters today and share your project’s needs with them.
