"Corporate strategy books don't often allow for much wit or boldness, so we worked with what we had. The title provided a clue, particularly the number 'nine.' I envisioned a grid of nine squares in different colors, dominated by a large number 9 with the title superimposed. I selected a subdued yet cheerful palette and a deco-inspired font (Blakely) that adds charm while remaining sober enough to avoid raising any corporate hackles."

"I wanted the cover to visually capture the book's critique of how the digital industry often prioritizes tech over customer experience. The broken lollipop represents the frustration customers feel, while the bright colours and bold typography give it a professional and modern look. "
