#359 In the Dark

With horror films like Obsession and Backrooms dominating the global box office, I’ve been thinking about what keeps many of us up at night — such as the fear of the dark. As children, many of us would rely on a simple night light, or maybe even leave a door ajar. But when it comes to storytelling, there may be something worse than that… I’m talking about being kept in the dark.

This week, let’s explore uncertainty and the unknown. Consider open endings, hidden information, and subverted expectations. Whether you turn on the lights at the end or leave us standing in the shadows, lean into what's withheld or kept secret. What don't you want us to see coming?
