#357 Two's a Crowd with Kirsiah Depp

I’m Kirsiah Depp and I’ve been working at Big 5 publishers for over ten years. Some authors I’ve had the immense pleasure working with include David Baldacci, Freida McFadden, Scott Turow, Lauren Kate, and many more. What they have in common is that they make me feel ALL the feels — and between you and me, if there’s that spark of magic in their story, all the better. Now, I take that experience and try to give authors on Reedsy (check out my profile here) the editorial support they need to tell the best story they have within them.

Everyone always talks about the main character of a story, but they never go on their journey alone. Their quest, epic or personal, is aided (or hindered) along the way by the characters who surround them. And it is these side characters who really give life to a story. They fill out the universe and give you a foil or comedic relief or pensive introspection that can make a reader become really invested in both the story and the main character.

So, as an ode to all of the characters who sit outside the limelight and are great friends — or enemies — to the star, this week's prompts are inspired by companionship and the huge impact characters can have on those they support.
