What is a blog tour?
On a traditional book tour, you visit various stores for readings, Q&As, and book signings. On a blog tour, you promote your book on popular blogs. Your appearance can take different forms: interviews, live Q&As via streaming apps, or reviews from bloggers — it’s up to each blogger to choose how to promote your book.
If you hire a publicist for a blog tour, they will pitch your book to a series of suitable (and usually well-known) blogs in your genre. They will then work with interested bloggers to schedule your virtual appearances on their blogs.
A blog tour can be demanding, particularly during the intense period around your book launch. A publicist is a key ally who will help you work up the pitch, write answers for interviews, and even promote the reviews you receive on social media.
