Erickson is a hockey player who wanted to go to Inuit and meet the indigenous people to see how they play the sports in their locality contacting local enthusiasts to help plan for his trip. From his place will take almost 8 hours to go there using a private plane. There are no regular flights going there, airstrips are only possible for an airplane to land. The weather is unpredictable and he must be ready to have his equipment and his tools also his apparel to meet whatever kind of weather he may encounter. He thought of staying there maybe for a week and looked for someone to go with him aside from the pilot that he hires. He has to contact how many people is needed while he is there to host the game for the Inuit community to be represented in this ice sports. It is very important for Erickson to be well equipped going there to make sure he will be able to organize two teams. It is better if there is one already so the other team will be organize and a game can be hosted. Do they have a referee already or he may bring one too? It's good he thought of it or this trip would become useless. He doesn't like if there will be no official referee to make the hockey game an official one to make the sports really interesting to the Inuit people. He is thinking to bring a reporter to make a record of the game then send it to sports media this maybe a first time to be seen by international audiences. Is that not good for everyone to see? It has a good weather on the day of his trip to Dawson Creek near the North Pole. The sky is so blue and there is thin clouds the light plane has encountered while navigating the 8 hours flight. With an altitude of 3.000 feet the light plane steadily and smoothly glide through the air then slowly gliding downward until it has reach an open space full of icebergs but this is not the place where it is suppose to land. The pilot knows where to land studying his map previously following the direction farther north to a forested area, The airstrip is now visible and down he drives the plane to the airstrip successfully landed on the ground. Erickson is excited that their trip to Dawson Creek has been safe to reach the place and his group. Making his way to the wooden log cabin, as soon as he opens the door a strong wind carried him to the backdoor then he steps down to a waiting carriage with icedogs who seemed to be tamed and trained to serve people like Erickson. They speak their own language and Erickson seem to understand what they are saying. The leader is saying they are showing what service icedogs are doing. Inside the carriage where Erickson is seated is a table where food is served for him. He learns that his trip will take sometime before they reach the place to see the hockey game. He eats some fresh fruits hearing they are picked by the service icedogs. By the way there are four icedogs pulling the carriage and as they walked carefully along the street they must follow the street rules of stop and go. Erickson is anxious to see how the game of hockey is being played but he is wondering why he cannot see people but they are all icedogs along the way who are picking fruits like apples, grapes plums and peaches in the orchards and vegetables in the farm. So he is in the kingdom of icedogs. He can see female icedogs carrying their puppies while picking fruits and vegetables. What a beautiful scenery to pass by beautiful flower gardens maintained by icedog gardeners. Have you seen a flowering tree called golden shower? They are all flowers hanging down from their branches and passers by almost break their neck not to turn around pasting their eyes seeing their beauty. Then they arrived at the Palace of King Icedog Chong and Queen Icedog Queen Ching. They are happy to see Erickson having prepared to meet him to see if he can organize two teams with the help of their son Master Icedog Champ who has trained abroad. The king and queen wants to train local trainees to become champions like their son and their team can compete other teams too. Erickson now understand why he is so anxious to come to the North Pole. He remembers Santa Claus is living here too. If he can organize a hockey team here then there may become hockey icedog players champions too like Master Icedog Champ the first in the Inuit community. Here Erickson form the two teams of 8 players each and began the training. Master Icedog Champ is the referee. Since it is their first game it took sometime for both teams to learn the rules of the game until they are able to understand the rules and applied them while playing Erickson has been satisfied of making this trip to Dawson Creek, Nunavut. Erickson didn't know there is a Sports Tournament to be held the next day. The events are composed of marathon swimming and boxing. In marathon the athletes who are competing are the icedog teams. In swimming are the seal and the penguin teams. In boxing are the bear teams. The first event is the Marathon. There are 5 athletes in the marathon 2 white icedogs, 2 blacks and 1 brown running the 200 meter dash. Then 10 runners in the 400 meter dash. Then 20 players in the 500 meters relay. The referee and the recorders are on standby to officially declare the winners. There are many spectators to watch the event coming from the North Pole. Each champion is given a trophy and a sash gold silver and bronze medal. The gold medal is awarded to the White Ice Dog 1 silver medal to Brown Ice Dog and bronze medal to Black Ice Dog 2. Here comes the swimming event. There are 5 penguins on Lane 1 to 5 and seals on Lane 6 to 10. As soon as the gun is shot to start the game the swimmers altogether speedily swam to make the highest record. Everybody clap their wings and flippers when a penguin came first who gets the gold medal a seal who gets the silver medal came after and the third is another penguin who gets the bronze medal.. How inspiring for the young participants to join these sports events. At the podium the sports organizers congratulated and gave a handshake to the winners. The boxing participants are the black, brown and white bear. They call the white bear a Spirit Bear being rarely spotted in the wild. It is the White Bear who took the gold medal the Black Bear the silver medal and the Brown Bear the bronze medal. Erickson didn't watch the next games bidding farewell to the king and queen.
