"IT'S MY WEDDING DAY GET DOWN HERE MIKE!" I scream at my little brother, he will NOT be missing my wedding day to play Fortnight with child predators.
"I DON'T PLAY WITH CHILD PREDATORS Chelsea!" He screams back.
He totally does though, voice chat "glitch's" aren't tricking anyone and the people he plays with are definitely not normal. He's been annoying FOREVER but lately it's been really bad, either I matured or he became immature... Ever since I moved out to act in plays around the world so much has happened. Now I'm back for the wedding and it's weird to see how everyone has done fine without me. Putting all thoughts aside I barge into Mike's room and pull the abused power plug out of the outlet. It was BURNING meaning only one thing, Mike had been using it for a WHILE. When I say burning I mean burning by the way, the plug left red burn marks on my skin. It was so hot.
"Hey what was that for!" Mike yells.
"It was for trying to ignore my wedding." I deadpan.
Mike got up, walked out the door and slammed it shut in my face.
"The wedding should be interesting..." I whisper to myself
My Mom barges in with no warning and helps me get ready to go. I still need to change into my dress and style my hair, but at least now I'm making progress. A staff member opens the car door when we arrive and I attempt to gracefully climb out (notice how I say attempt). As I walk to the bride's changing room I am overwhelmed with excitement to put on my dress. When I saw it in the store I knew it was THE dress and I bought it immediately after trying it on. After changing I walk in front of the full body mirror and my jaw drops. The dress is studded with pearls that glisten in the light, they form images of flowers and the creamy white fabric pools at my feet. In short, I love it. Sunlight shines down from the skylight and the whole room has a magical aura. I open the large mahogany doors and head for the altar to meet William. Once I open the next set of doors someone slams them shut. I turn around in horror, confused at the sudden scene but the door wont open. We. Are. Locked. In.
"What's happening!" Screams a guest (my best friend to be specific)
"Everybody be calm, we will handle this in an orderly fashion." The staff reassures us.
Upon a more thorough inspection the door is found locked with a note lying on the floor beside it. The note is addressed to me. I open it. Inside the letter I find this.
Dear Chelsea,
Congrats on the wedding, and don't worry it will go on once you solve the puzzles. IF you solve the puzzles because if you don't there will be consequences. By consequences I mean you will never leave this room. So here is your first puzzle. Put your answer on the keyboard, if it is right one of the few locked objects in the room will open. Solve well dear and remember, nothing is as it seems.
The first puzzle reads like this.
The clock strikes midnight, grass will grow green, If you break the law don't be seen, what am I?
Luckily it's a small wedding, just me Mom, Mike, Dad, Julie (my best friend), Uncle Robert, Grandma, a few staff members and William. If there were more people I think I would suffocate.
"Dear Chelsea,

Solve well dear and remember, nothing is as it seems. The clock strikes midnight, grass will grow green, If you break the law don't be seen, what am I?" I read aloud this time for the room to hear.
The room erupts in argument over the first clue leaving me and Grandma to ponder it alone.
"All those things are true, obvious and possibly meaningless." I told Grandma.
"Well what if the answer is obvious?" Grandma replies.
"Worth a try at this point." I say to please Grandma.
We put the code in and a cabinet in the back of the room pops open right in cue. I race to the back of the room, determined to find a weapon to bust the door open. All that is in the cabinet is a scrap of paper.
"The world was big enough for me so why not for you?" I read aloud.
"Is there a globe in the room?" Mike offers.
Strangely, he seems to be enjoying this. Even so I look for a globe anyway. Nothing.
"How about a map?" Mom thinks out loud.
"There's a map in the far right corner!" Screams Julie, my energetic best friend.
I yank the map off the wall and watch as it topples to the floor. Still nothing. After many more failed leads I notice a book shelf, it is filled with every fantasy book imaginable but has only one dictionary. I open the dictionary like a predator stalking prey and find the words from the clue. Sure enough on all of the clue pages there are sticky notes with more words that create a mismatched sentence.
"Maybe it's an anagram?" Offers William.
"Too many possible combinations."
"Oh, try alphabetical order." Says Julie.
In alphabetical order it says Jeer, Eat, Wish, Envelope and Lose.
"Jeer, Eat, Wish, Envelope and Lose what does that mean!" I scream and throw one of the pristine vases from the china cabinet at the wall.
"Jewel, the answer is jewel." Says an unknown voice.
"Who are you?" Asks Mike.
"Me, oh I'm the person who locked you in here." Says the stranger.
I know I know their voice though and when they step out of the shadows my suspicions are confirmed. It's Olivia, my best friend turned nemesis.
I lied to the police. I told them that Olivia vandalized public property, she was only there to talk me out of it. The sentence is a year in prison because we are eighteen. My record is not spotless like Olivia's and if I was caught they would give me a five year sentence, I had to do it. That didn't mean it was right.
