Ghost of the Christmas Spirit Intern: Observant Much

Sorry but not sorry. I'm not easily convinced; not even one bit… Prove me wrong but there's simply no way that Ebenezer Scrooge himself has had a change of heart, turning a new leaf that quickly. I mean sure, would you ever like to see a sweet child like Little Timmy to die under his condition? No one, I tell you that’s why! That little guy has a bright future ahead of him. However, that greedy man though. If he messes up, then surely that would be the downfall of two souls for one cause. A cause of a selfish man and his actions. He’s so luc...

Unwanted Presence

WRITER’S NOTE: This is a retrospective of Pepvin Mace getting his answer on his familiar, haunting voice aka an “unwanted presence”. (A continuation to the “Perturbed State of Mind” chapter!) This short story (yet another never-before-read chapter) will be added to one of my future books; one of them being the fifth book to The Rissindell Stories: “Sage & the Twins of Unity”. Please enjoy the reading. ‘No, no, no, no this can't be!’ I said this mentally in my head. There's no way that Gerlard survived all of that in the Second Great Mage War...

No Use for Combs

“Nothing beats this,” I said to myself after taking another trip to catch some frogs for today. I simply love collecting frogs I have gathered, and writing them into my logbook after studying them once I have got a hold of them gently in my hands. I of course have to be careful with the poisonous ones; they are no joke. Thankfully I got gloves for many reasons when it came from catching. Anyways, I took one look at my reflection near one of the many rivers provided in the Swamplands of Alladornis. My hair was so messy and unkept but I didn't...

To Kill a Giant or Two, Maybe More

WRITER’S NOTE: This is a retrospective through the eyes of Pepvin Mace contemplating on how to kill a giant. Passage can be found on Chapter 27 towards “Prince Gabriel of Alladornis”. Some minor spoilers ahead so proceed with caution. Enjoy the reading. Gerlard transported himself and I to the edge of the Giant’s Valley. From there, we could see gigantic buildings, equipment, and the villagers who resided in the valley. The buildings were wrapped around a much provided huge lake. Attached to the lake was a river that flows through the northw...

The Cat's Meow

I remember when she was just a kitten... We used to play in the kennels and rough house each other. Most often times, she will start it. Don't let that cute innocent face fool you. She's a menace, I tell you. A menace! Yet I still love her 'cause she's my sister, no matter what. We do have another sibling but they weren't so active and always sleep a lot. Our third would have nothing to do with us, but my sister and I were as thick as thieves. We would often chase one another and gave each other love bites once being tagged. I can't recall...

Walking with The Truth

Writer's Note: This is a retrospective of Terrance Tavf after finding out his origins. Major spoilers ahead, including the plot twist from " The Blacksmith's Nephew" found in chapter 37. Proceed with caution otherwise, enjoy the reading. I walked around the ruined village thinking to myself for the next twenty-five minutes. A village of which I was made to rule one day... I was still in shocked of who I was, where I had come from, and what I was meant to be. Was I really the Prince of the once Southern Kingdom? Was I born to become a great...

Jasper's Thoughts

I really want her. I want her back. My dear Carre; my sweet Carie. Oh, how much I have missed you through this last few days. Why did you have to leave me? It has been devastating without you here with me. If only I can see your smile, hear your laugh and dance with you, just once. One more time. Apparently, time was at an essence and there was no way of knowing if that day was our last moment together. I am still in all shocked of what have happened and couldn't pin point it out. At least not at the start until much later. I just so happe...

Keen-eyed Monkey Business

Keen. I have to been quick minded and sharp throughout majority of my life. The same can be said with my partner in crime; a capuchin monkey who's also named Keen. We have been doing our partnership for a good while now. Since the day we met the two of us were thick as thieves, literally and figuratively. All in efforts to gather enough money for ourselves, the loan I will have to owe to Mr. W., and my daughter's treatment. Keen and I have been out in the streets of Las Vegas, performing our skills, either in the arts or deception. I would p...

The Endless Hallway, Chapter II

It's been several days since I have been here at the Endless Hallway. I don't know how long I can take the silence here. It's like walking through a library only expect there was no books nor people, just doors on either side. I can't count how many doors I went through, but I can sure enough tell you of the worlds I have been. There was a time I came across some sort of ritual of college students. I had to exit so fast, I didn't want to know what they were conjuring up. It all looked unholy and I won't be participating that anytime soon or ...

We M.E.T. the Sprung Elephants

"Come on, Eva, I mean Evan, we might miss them," called my youngest sibling: Tina as she as well as my older sister (Maya) flew on ahead of me. I swear sometimes my triplet sisters can get the best of me. I lifted myself up with my own wings and soon enough, came right before them two. We flew through that enchanted forest like it was on the back of our hands. Maya showed off her skills by twirling around, doing corkscrews and loops. She of course had the biggest grin on her face while doing so. Meanwhile Tina clapped for applause of Maya's...

Twice the Fool

"This is going to be a hot one today," I said as I grabbed my rack talking to my cow. Qwynn responded with a light moo as I hoist on a strip to a plough. Different day, sameo routine. We went at it through the field as we made our daily job and routine. But man, was I sweating after a good twenty minutes. Even Qwynn wasn't having it at first but after a couple of slips of waters, we persevere. We were a natural unit, her and I. I knew Qwynn since she was a calf and instantly I saw greatness in her. We've been friends ever since l, and there...

Life's A Blur

Time went fast by me, quite figuratively and literally. Everything and everyone around me all became a blur as I stood there in one place. It is worth noting that this ain't my first time seeing this unfold. In fact, I have been doing this so much, that a special and secret organization called the Watchful Dozen had to intervene the last time. And did I listen? Obviously not. Do I care? Somewhat. But a part of me wanted to go back to the time where I met Carie before Jasper had to swoop up and take her for himself. Carie has been such a dear...

Otterly Altered

I woke up finding Slick 47 licking and nudging his head against my face. Sometimes this outstanding otter acts like a puppy and kitten at the same time, I swear. "What just happened?" I said to my otterly friend as I found myself on the cold floor of my lab of a backyard shed. I don't know how long I have passed out but the last thing I could remember was giving Slick treats of which he was excited for. I also can remember that he gave me a love bite that caused me to bleed a little bit. He was very apologetic about it, all of which I admire...

Marching Bard

'Finally, peace and quiet...' I said to myself after my twins and wife have passed asleep. As much as I love Litick, Hilda, and Aiamada, there's been moments I feel like I can't have time for myself. In my household, there's always: "Dad, can we do something together, just you and me?", or "Daddy, let's go play," or "Jorfy, do this for me." It's always something of someone asking more out of me, and I'm just tired. So much so, I want just to be myself for once and now's that time. After a full hour and no sleep on my part, I decided to quiet...

A Ball of Snakes

WRITER'S NOTE: This is a never-before-read chapter titled: "Having a Ball with Snakes". This following passage is written towards the upcoming prequel novel called: "A Tale Between Knights & Mages"! In this version, we get to go through the eyes of both Sonas Erce and Gerlard Strent!? Please enjoy the reading. ~SONAS Later in the evening, everything was all set and ready to go with the Three Chairmen’s Annual Ball found in the Dance Hall on the third layer of the Capital, one down below the courthouse. Eventually a lot of people arrived the...
