Getting Gas

Look. We weren’t trying to cause any problems. I’m moving here, but the apartment is moving into is across the street and we’re running low on gas and we saw a gas station. We’re just trying to get some gas. Yes I see that now but we didn’t realize that we’re happy to leave and gas up somewhere else. We didn’t know.

What about the U-Haul truck? If you take us in for questioning, where do we put the U-Haul truck? Search it? Why? It’s just my clothes and furniture and stuff like that. There’s nothing of any interest Uncle Sam. If you help me move it up to my apartment, you can search through it. That’d be great. But have you unpacked just to have me put it back in doesn’t make any sense. I’m just asking to take it across the street. We’re returning the U-Haul in about two hours. Yes we see the sign now again we can go somewhere ok what questions do you have? An interrogation room? Why? You just asked me here. No one’s around that’s why I thought this would be a good place to get up my truck. No I don’t have any weapons in the cab of the u-haul Have fun. There are no drugs. There are no weapons. I am not a terrorist. We’re just moving from Pennsylvania to Virginia. We needed gas and maybe some coffee and we’ll be on our way.

Do you have a supervisor. Could I please speak with him? We’re low on gas. We’re moving my daughter to Washington DC and we thought this was a gas station. This was an odd mistake. We just want to get gas and we can get gas in another gas station so just let us go. We didn’t take anything we didn’t leave anything. We’re just trying to get some gas. Trespassing.? we didn’t think we were trespassing. We saw a gas station and thought we could buy gas. Ignorance isn’t an excuse? There are no signs that said no trespassing or government personnel only hell even school buses have sides where they gas up that says not for public consumption. Why wasn’t there a sign? Is there a BIA office for the military? CID? OSI? CGIS? NCIS. Heard of that one. Great TV show.

Here’s what happened from the top. My daughter graduated college. We went out to eat, celebrated, etc. She rented an apartment before that and receiving a job. We rented a U-Haul, made some stops for food and pit stops and now we’re here and we needed gasoline. It’s all a gas station we pulled up. I dried a bit of my credit card. It didn’t work. It asked for a military ID and we tried to pull out and get stopped by this officer, it’s an honest mistake. We’re not terrorist. We’re not thieves. We’re just trying to buy some gas.

We didn’t see the sign. We know we’re wrong. We’re not trying to go any problem. We’re just trying to leave. Keep us here for how long? We still have to unload our stuff gas up the U-Haul and return it. You already told you everything anyway what else do you wanna know? No, we’re not a part of Al quita or any other terrorist organization? What don’t you understand?

Isn’t there something more important that US Armed Forces could be doing right now other than questioning us about gassing up our truck? Like trying to catch terrorist or unibombers? Or defending our nation? Instead of holding people against their will, we’re just trying to gas up their car? Yes we could be terrorist, but we’re not the world could be flat but it’s round. Fine do you have a supervisor? Where I’m gonna need to talk to the president of the United States of America over bullshit.

I’m in jail. My daughter is in jail too. I hope that all of her stuff is safe. This is the first time in my life. I’ve been in jail who thought going to the wrong gas station could be such a bitch? The family attorney, but I don’t think its specialty is military so I might have to refer me to somebody else. Is there anyone that specializes in going to the wrong gas station? My daughter is probably crying. Her name‘s Susie. I said the right thing when they arrested me which is I’m using my right to remain silent. I want to speak to an attorney. I want to say this is bullshit, but didn’t it wasn’t even a runaway without paying for gas. I was willing to pay for the gas, but you know this already.

Not sure what the jurisdiction will be we have a military trial even though I’m not in the military Susan‘s not in the military either or will it be a civic case? And why wasn’t there a gate around this gas station around this whole facility? Yes it’s by the Pentagon and the Pentagon is open to the public but still it should’ve been a warning or gate. Welcome to DC. Welcome to your new home. By the way, you’re moving into prison. not sure if this will affect her job because they generally don’t hire people with criminal records. Don’t think we’ll need a public attorney, but it’s always good to have options.

I’m crying and I should be crying joy of happiness. This is my first home is my first time away from my parents who were helping me or trying to help me but now I’m here in prison. From the movies, I found it right to the outside World, but I can write to my dad who’s in the same prison? How many accountants in it know about accounting law but I don’t know anything about this law. Maybe they won’t press charges. This should be dropped. I mean it’s stupid. It was an honest mistake. We just wanted to gas up our car.

You have the right to a fair trial and also speedy trial. I watch a lot of cop shows me a call up my wife and ask her to call up an attorney and do some research. She’s good at research. Shell think I’m joking. You’re in jail for what? You’re kidding, right?

On 5 June me and my daughter were driving her U-Haul and we were low on gas and we saw a gas station and did not realize it was a military gas station meant for the military only when an officer informed us about that we offered to leave, but we’re arrested. We are not terrorist. We’re just people moving and trying to get gasoline.
