Sandy is raised from a strictly religious family. In her understanding she has to follow the religious beliefs and traditions her mother is following. She has to practice the rituals to develop a good character like praying each bead of the rosary necklace then attend the daily mass at their church. She has slowly absorb this habits and became comfortable doing it. Her parents worked hard to raise them with her two brothers and her sister, Kelly . Another important thing to consider what kind of livelihood do they have to keep their finances just being small scale farmers depending on their harvest twice a year. There are times when there is not much to harvest when the bad weather destroys their crops. Her mother thought of becoming a merchant to help his father increase their family income. They hired helpers during planting and harvest time. His brothers helped too. When the rice harvest is finished they can plant other crops like watermelon , peanuts and corn. When Sandy entered her high school years a friend invited her to attend another church without the knowledge of her parents thinking they might not allow her to join a new church using different doctrine. She has made the best decision to go with her friend. Learning a new perspective of not doing rituals but centered on God the Creator of the universe. It is an eye opener to her not venerating man made statues. Frequently thinking of her parents when it comes to their livelihood Sandy's personal ambitions if she has the means and ability she would like to have a better life unlike them putting all their strength to earn and yet they are always short. In her mind this must not be the case. The more she is frustrated when seeing their neighbors in the same situation. Children deserves better too. She is thankful to find a new way to examine the difference of her past and present. It is simpler to ;learn and understand what God wants her to do in her life. She came to know and understand why a woman must not enter early in a relationship with the opposite sex. Why? She has to avoid guys in order that she can concentrate in her studies and ignore them when she feels they have an interest to know her personally. In their remote village almost all the people living there are farmers. their social center is the church. While growing Sandy lhas a beautiful sense of admiring the flower buds waiting to open their petals. Bees and butterflies come by to visit them when the flowers are already blooming . The boys in the village at her age are like the butterflies and bees who are looking for someone to be special in their sight. Someone they could keep in their heart. Estong a playmate of Sandy growing up together has his eyes on her. He is helping his father in their farm. He has not much to show off , walking barefoot in the rice paddies to catch mudfish catfish picking up fresh water shells whom Sandy's family has a share. He has ambitions to continue his studies ' He met Sandy at the same school in the same sophomore class. Both are excited to see each other. they sit together where their classmates began to tease them in which they didn't mind at all feeling they can share their lessons and help each other if they needed to, Doing their class assignments at the library. Estong didn't allow any boys to get near her. He didn't like them to disturb her. When they are together they didn't talk anything about boy/girl relationship fearing it might destroy their friendship. At her young age Sandy opened her eyes to see the real struggle of living. Estong is helping his father till the ricefields for a living. To Sandy if possible she shy away to be as poor as her parents when she grow up. In her deeper thoughts there is a way to get out of that kind of life. Farmers no longer have the desire to strive more just go with the cycle of farming and till the soil. They feel there is no chance for change. Their harvest this season has been spent and nothing is left to survive but depend on loan. How can these impoverished farmers change their lives? Sandy's store is the supplier of their immediate necessities asking for advances added to the grocery list of debt to be paid for at the next harvest. Life is in a standstill. Sandy's young mind can't stand to have the same future The children she may raise will experience the same kind of hardship . This is what she is afraid of if Estong will think that they can develop a deeper and meaningful relationship growing between them. She took all the sacrifice to burn her candles at night to focus on her studies. Estong is not as sharp as she is. Soon their Graduation Day is coming. Estong invited Sandy to have a dinner at the restaurant knowing this occasion maybe the last time to see each other no more as often as before. Estong can't say the words he wanted to say but offered her a bunch of flowers and a short note saying . " I know this day draw us apart , remember you will always be in my heart," That night Sandy didn't get her sleep right away. She tries to ignore her feelings for Estong . She is sure to continue her studies for consistently maintaining her high grades and topped all their examinations to be chosen as the class valedictorian. She received scholarship offers from different colleges. The best offer came from the state university to answer all her expenses to take a program in Biology. Estong is left to till the soil having no one to shoulder his tuition fees in case he wanted to pursue his studies. As soon as Sandy has settled at the college dormitory she met new classmates to take the same course. Her secondary point of interest aside from her studies is to learn more about the nature of God. She has the Holy Bible to read at her spare time. The creation of the universe caught her attention. At the creation the first to be created is the spectacular solar system where the movement of the planets is illustrated orbiting Planet Earth. Land water covering the Earth., the only planet where living things thrive. This can be read in the Bible is this not wonderful how God created the Universe? It is the most beautiful planet of all the planets. He prepared this planet for men and women to live. His plan is to let them inhabit the Earth. So He created the first human being to live on Earth. From a handful of clay Hc created man out of his own image and likeness and called him Adam. designed to have a complete body parts to function separately according to their specific uses, He put Adam in the Garden of Eden , Land of Paradise. Surrounded with living things for him to eat entertained by all shapes of living things on land and sea Adam is not completely happy which is the plan to make him filled with joy. God really wanted Adam to enjoy his life . What God did is to create another human to become Adam's companion by drawing one of Adam's rib to become a woman He called Eve. To be alive like what He did to Adam infuse life to her nostrils so both of them became living souls. This time God returned to His kingdom and instructed them not to to eat the fruits of a certain tree inside the Garden of Eden. God;s plan for Adam and Eve is they must follow His commands and to become His family. God's family will inhabit the Earth through the future descendants of Adam and Eve. How can Adam and Eve have a family? Adam and Eve didn't know yet until something happened when God went away. A stranger in the form of disguise creature , an intruder entered the garden and talk to Eve who entertained the stranger not knowing what would be the result listening to it. The Deceiver induce Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. whom God prohibited them to eat, not to be touch at all cost. Upon the return of God He can no longer see Adam and Eve hiding themselves from Him. As soon as they came face to face God furiously ordered them to get out of the Garden of Eden as a punishment not to have followed Him. The couple can't do anything but to accept the decision of God. The words of God to Adam hit hard, to work out of the sweat of his brow to support his family until now. To Eve is to carry her child in her womb whether a boy ot a girl and suffer the unimaginable pains of childbirth. What happen to the promise of God to provide their needs? Is this God's love to them? Why does God calls himself Love when He let his children suffer because of what happened in the Garden of Eden? If God loves them why is it Adam has to work and Eve has to suffer? What do we mean about the Love of God? The interference of Lucifer also called the Deceiver completely destroyed the plan of God for Adam and Eve to live a happy and peaceful life. Lucifer is dropped to Earth when he is defeated during a battle with angels. He became the enemy of God. At the creation God wanted them to be His children and to follow His commands., Lucifer succeeded to let Eve follow his enticement, to become wiser. But this is a total deception and complete lies for they are all unfounded while God fulfills His promises. As many human civilizations evolved man is continously living through the deceptions and lies of the Deceiver. A man and a woman according to God's command is to love each other. God is the one who chooses and decide the man and woman who will become husband and wife and will live together for life During marriage after expressing their marriage vows it can only last if either one of them dies. This is no longer happening. Marriage is not taken as a sacred union. anymore. Nowadays a man and a woman can separate according to their whims and caprices in expense of their children and a broken home. . The body is no longer sanctified but a commodity to be disposed anytime for both man and woman as they please. Going back to God's love, man can find true love by developing the character of God , both of them with his wife. All mistakes of men can be erase by praying and asking God's forgiveness Men and women must forgive those who committed mistakes against them. Forgiving is to erase anger and hate which is a poison to the soul. Becoming blameless is becoming free of the bondage of sin. True love can be shared between a man and a woman by following God;s commands. Sandy wants to follow what God commands and to live His way not the Deceiver's or Lucifer's way. to rule her life. It is only God who can fulfill His promises Personally God gave her the right mind to follow her dreams. God's gifts, her talents and high intelligence is what she is enjoying . Her doctorate degree brought her to attend conferences abroad . She chooses to share her knowledge and blessings to others. She received an invitation to attend the wedding of her sister Kelly. The whole church congregation congratulated Estong and Kelly showering them with rose petals. Sandy made a quick glance to the man she has loved once whom she exchange it to God's love.GP
