More like words will break my bones and sticks and stones will never hurt me.

That sounds about right.

Either way the real saying IS wrong. EVERYone knows that words can ALWAYS hurt. And on top of that sticks and stones can still break bones (except for mine).

Sigh. Anyway, I’m Rudy, the middle child of my small family. I’m sandwiched between two girls-My TWIN sister Ruby (who’s only older by 6 minutes and 8 seconds) and my little sis Rosie (the cutie pootie).

Everyone knows me as the troublemaker who hangs upside down from trees. Bleh. I’m more like the guy who always makes you laugh, I’m adventurous, I’m cheerful, I’m VERY enthusiastic and witty.

But no one can get past all the lies and rumors about me (and I think most of them were spread by Ruby)

The rumors:

I climb trees because I don’t like being a fox and wish I was a monkey.

Totally a lie. I love being a fox/human!

I get bad grades because I’m stupid.

That is not why. I will talk about that one later.

I cross my eyes because I need human glasses and when I was a wee cub my eyes didn’t adapt fast enough.

WRONG! I cross my eyes on purpose just to make my friends laugh.

My life is so complicated. Now let’s get in to the dets.

First, my twin Ruby, thinks she's the boss, even though she’s only 6 minutes and 8 seconds older. She has to remind me EVERY STINKIN’ DAY!!! Then there’s sweet Rosie. She’s the BEST I love spoiling her, most of the time it’s out of the goodness of my heart, then sometimes it’s to annoy Ruby. SHE wants to spoil Rosie too. I just want Rosie to be comfortable in her own skin. If she doesn’t want to wear girly outfits, just a hoodie and some shorts, that is FINE with me. But noooo, Ruby always BEGS her to change. Rosie just says yes so she doesn't hurt her feelings. This is not the least of my problems.

There's my two best friends, Apricot and Goldie. You have to say Apricot first, then Goldie. Apricot is like “the leader.” not in a bossy way though. Goldie is loyal, kind, reliable, sweet, passionate, energetic, compassionate, friendly, dependable, honest…..I can go on and on.

Apricot is brave and friendly too, she won’t scream if a wolf approaches her. And she wants to bring wolves and foxes together.

Well, everyone together and I’m fine with that.

I have known Goldie and Apricot for almost my whole life. Life with them is crazy but I love it-and I know they do too.

Another problem is Goldie. Yes she’s my best friend but maybe, MAYBE, I want me and her to be more. Of course she doesn’t know, and probably doesn’t care. She has eyes for Hood. Yuck. Hood is my rival. He loves trouble, he’s witty, and he’s the type of guy who gets all girls wooing. He’s smart, I have to give that to him, but he’s still my rival. Anytime he talks to Goldie I want to claw my ears out (and my eyes).

What really gets under my skin is how Hood knows that I like Goldie, (Apricot probably does too) and he just likes to rub it in my face.

It is pretty annoying.

This is why Hood is my enemy. He always takes advantage of my “situation” and presses my buttons.

He’s just the absolute worst and I just want to-

Anyway…my OTHER problem is people ACTUALLY think that I’m dumb, and stupid.

Yes, I fail every test, but what they don’t know is that I do all of this JUST so people can tell the difference between me and my twin. Everyone wants me to be like her, but I’m not! I’m me! So, to clear things up, I fail on purpose, don’t study, and dial it back JUST so I’m not like my sister. I’m really smart if you get to know me. It’s just…when I was younger, we used to hang out a lot. I used to play in the mud, splash Ruby and she wouldn’t care AS MUCH. We were just kids. But ever since our parents became more known, and we’ve been in the spotlight, she "toughened up” and acts like she's better than me. Better than anyone. She smiles at everyone. The only time she frowns is when looking at me and she scowls at me too. It is annoying.

I’m the only sibling for Rosie when Ruby’s head is stuck in her “mirror.”

So you see, people may THINK I’m crazy, dorky, weird, stupid, BUT NO it’s all a lie.

I have a good heart. Really I do. I also have my motivations.

Anyway, my life may SEEM like I’m just trashing it and I don’t care about anything. But I do! I love my little sister Rosie AND I love Ruby, mostly anyway, and I absolutely care when Goldie gets hurt by anyone trying to bully her about her missing dad. Who would even want to bully her??? Lots of boys would agree she is just the cutest sweetest thang. Even though sometimes we fight, I don’t even care who wins.

AHH I JUST GOT OFF SUBJECT AGAIN!!! Keep it together Rudy. Hold it in.

WELL NOW THEY DO KNOW BECAUSE RUBY OR HOOD TOLD EVERYONE ABOUT MY STUPID CRUSH!!!!

Changing subjects…I just wish adults would understand my problem!! If I was “smart” and I got great awesome grades, people would say, “Ah you’re just like your sister.” and “Those are some “real” twins.”

I DON’T WANT TO BE HER I WANT TO BE ME JUST ME THE ONE AND ONLY UNIQUE TOTALLY AWESOME RUDY ENZO CRIMSON!!!

Gah. I had to get that out. Well technically I didn’t get it out because this is my mind….and I’m not shouting it out from the treetops. So, I might have to get this out still. Wait a minute, why ARE you in my head??? Reading into my thoughts…seeing everything I think of that’s only for me…No one knows any of this info. IT’S HIGHLY CLASSIFIED!! So you can’t tell anyone. Whoever you are. The Designer, a random person, I DON’T CARE JUST DON’T TELL ANYONE!!!

All you can talk about is my hair and my remarkable freckles and perfectly unperfect whiskers.

Oh yeah.

Why didn’t The Designer just make me have a normal life? With normal skills?

Sigh.

So yep! I love my life. Totally not planning how to get revenge on Hood.

HE KEEPS CALLING ME CROSS EYED!!! Like I can’t see clearly. Humph. I see (and hear) too much.
