Have We Met Before

"Have we met before", said the older man at the end of the bar.

Thinking she just wanted to finish her drink and forget about her day at work.

Lorraine continue drinking without responding to the old man question.

Not about to be ignored the older man leaves the end of the bar and comes and sits closer to her.

"Excuse me Miss, I'm sorry to be a bother but have we met before again asked the old man".

Deciding she might as well address the old man since he wasn't going away but first Lorraine order another drink.

Turning sideways on the barstool Lorraine finally looks at him.

He was very good looking man so you bet he was beautiful when he was younger.

But even with that Lorraine didn't recognize him so she address his question.

"I do travel a lot because of my job as a Motivation Speaker but I don't recall you Sir"

By that time the bartender brought Lorraine her drink which gave Samuel County time to look at her fully.

She does look familiar to him but where had he seen this woman before.

Noticing she had stopped drinking her drink and was looking at him staring at her Samuel County took this time to introduce himself.

"I'm sorry for staring at you and not to scare you into calling the cops let me introduce myself".

"My name is Samuel County and I'm a lawyer for North and North Firm; and you look like a client of mine".

Well since he was a lawyer it didn't seem so creepy after all as she takes another sip from her drink before she respond.

"Since we're doing Introduction my name is Lorraine Rise and as I stated before I'm Moviation Speaker".

"I would love for attorney to be looking for me with a inheritance or lost money refund right now" said Lorraine

At that time the bartender intruputed the conversation again.

"Do any of you plan on making anymore drinks orders before I go on my break?" asked the bartender.

It would take Russell to barrage into people conversation said Samuel to himself but to Russell the bartender he responds this way.

"Russell I been coming to this bar ever since your family owned it and you know I'll keep eye on it for you; besides I used to work here as a teenager".

And was scoring all the ladies back than you old dog; when I get old I want to be a player like you said Russell to himself.

But to Samuel and the lady at the bar Russell said this.

"I'll be gone only for thirty minutes if a customer wants a drink called the cook up front and he will deal with them".

"He's a old dog but as long as you don't get attached to him you can have some great fun and wonderful memories said Russell to her".

Lorraine was little pissed at his assumption about her being with Samuel but she also heard his warning and concern.

So to the bartender Lorraine respond this way.

"We weren't properly introduced Russell so I'll start off with my name is Lorraine Rise".

"I appreciate your concern on my behalf which tells me you're a big brother and have a little sister '.

"Yes ma'am I'm" said Russell

"So rest assured I just meet Samuel County here today as I just met you".

Seeing that Lorraine mint what she said Russell gives them both a nob as he heads out the door.

Turning back to Samuel County Lorraine asked why was he looking for this client.

Not wanting to tell Lorraine Rise that she was right about the money but mostly he knew he had met before.

So instead of answering her question Samuel County asked questions of his own.

"As a Moviation Speaker have you ever been to Boston?'

There wasn't many cities that Lorraine hadn't been to but to Samuel County question she says.

"Yes, I've been to great city of Boston; it was one of my greatest success trips ".

"The people their gave me such a great welcome there; I was only supposed to be there for a week but city paid for additional week for me" said Lorraine Rise.

That's it thought Samuel County to himself she the one that got away.

He had a conference in Boston and friends had recommended he attended her seminar.

Deciding to kill sometime on company money Samuel agreed and that's when Lorraine walked onto the stage.

Her message was breathtaking as we're her beauty and he couldn't wait to be introduced to her.

Finding out she was a Boston Celtics fan was icing on the cake.

They had celebrated her success that night and dance the night away until the next day.

Waking up that morning only to find she had gone back home and didn't know if she would be returning back to his great city.

Samuel County didn't know where her home was and the city of Boston had donations money that citizens and businesses had left for her.

And the city of Boston had made his law firm North and North their lawyer and him the attorney for the case.

Now two years later in Washington DC fate had brought them back together.

To test that it was really her Samuel County came up with this idea.

He would test Lorraine Rise by her love for Boston Celtics.

" You know their never been a better player for the Boston Celtics than Paul Pierce" said Samuel County

Lorraine Rise almost choked on her last sip of her drink.

Putting her glass down and picking up Samuel glass to see if there was more than rum and coke in it.

"Have you decided to change your drink?" asked Samuel.

Deciding to answer the last question first Lorraine Rise respond this way.

"To answer your last question first I was wondering if you had spiked your own drink to give answer like that'

"As for your statement concerning greatest basketball player for the Boston Celtics unless you were just born yesterday everyone knows that's Larry Bird".

"I would give Paul Pierce his credit and the work he put in being a Boston Celtics player".

"But for knocking down the three shots with players hanging onto your body and you still score".

"Nobody did it better than the "

And before Lorraine Rise could finish the sentence Samuel County finished it for her.

"The Birrrrd" said Samuel.

That moment is when her memory came flooding back to her.

Lorraine Rise remember the celebration of the success in Boston and friends of friends had introduced her to Samuel.

They had hit off to well and next morning Lorraine wasn't ready to deal with emotions or commitments.

So she left without sayin goodbye telling herself it was too much champagne.

Now fate had brought him to her hometown without notice and the ball back in her court.

Lorraine Rise could leave here and pretend she didn't catch the clue or the significance of the debate.

But Lorraine Rise respected herself to much for that so she respond this way.

"Hello Samuel I see you found my home".

"It's really is you Lorraine but that's not all that I found but we have the rest of our lives to discuss that" said Samuel.

"Samuel you finally got something right said" Lorraine.

"I'll drink to that"said Samuel County.

"As long as you buying I'll too"says Lorraine Rise.

Deciding he will tell her about the 2 million dollars check in the morning over breakfast and the rest of their lives.
