My name is Marie and I have 2 brothers and sisters. I am a mom of 4 and 2 grandchildren. I have been writing my whole life either through journals or story writing. My claim to fame is being a first place state of Texas contest winner . It was in the fifth grade and it was a play on My Birthright Freedom ! I have not entered a contest since. My fear of people reading my stories and them not being edited correctly has been a fear. I am surviving with a TBI and went through a really difficult time I have journaled the whole experience and have turned my journals into stories. I want to hopefully help someone who might be in a similiar situation and can learn from my awful road to recovery. I write about my life and it helps with coping with the obstacles but always showing with hard work you can always get back up. My whole life had obstacles but despite them I had a successful career prior to my injury and hold a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Education. After my injury I decided to try writing again but with my head injury it's been really difficult. However, I decided to pull myself up one more time by my bootstraps and try writing. I am 62 years old, surviving and entered my second contest but it has taken 10 years to do this,
