Monica’s bag hit the floor and her upper lip curled when she rounded the corner for her cubicle. The kitchen trash was strewn across her desk, coffee grounds sticking to her keyboard and a black and slimy looking banana peel hanging off the edge. 1 I look at my face in the mirror and trace a finger along the dark bags under my eyes. My fingers reach towards the pot of lotion, but I pause, hand wavering slightly in the air, barely brushing against the lid.
