Overview
When it comes to editing, I am hands-on and highly collaborative whilst still honouring the fact that *your* story is precisely that – yours. I adore getting stuck into a project, disentangling the many threads of a narrative, polishing them and weaving them back together again. I take an immense amount of pride in helping authors find confidence in their unique voice on the page, and consider playing a part in the creation of a book to be a privilege. I have worked on a countless number of bestsellers across fiction and non-fiction, and across a variety of genres within those camps.
Of course, I don't expect you to simply take it from me. Below I have included a variety of author testimonials so you know what to expect if you choose me as your Reedsy editor.
'I can whole-heartedly recommend Charlotte as an editor for your work. As an editor for my second novel, she was there with me every step of the way through a large and complex project that required multiple rounds of editing. Her insights into both granular detail and overarching matters of narrative, theme, character and plot were invaluable, and always communicated clearly and supportively. She encouraged me to think about my work in new ways that benefited the novel immensely, and also contributed to my own development as an author. I felt I could come to her with ideas or concerns, and she was always incredibly responsive and encouraging. You could not find a better champion than Charlotte for your work'

'I owe so much to Charlotte’s careful and imaginative editing of The Shapeshifter’s Daughter. She is a meticulous editor who also respects an author’s instincts and is brilliant at getting the best out of us. I will always be grateful for the gentle push she gave me to expand the Norse universe in this novel in ways I might not have dared to do without her'
Sally Magnusson, author of The Shapeshifter's Daughter

'I couldn’t recommend Charlotte more. She is an extremely supportive, creative and detail-oriented editor who was there for me in every stage of the process – from structurally, to shaping the bigger ideas and plot points of the novel, to the nuances of individual characters and ways of speaking. Indeed, I felt she got to know the characters as well as I did, and championed their weirdness and idiosyncrasies even as she put forward so many wonderful new ideas and challenged me to think about my novel in new ways. My editing experience was an encouraging and collaborative one, and I feel endlessly confident in saying that your work will be safe in Charlotte’s hands’
