Fearless-Fred Verses The Veenda Voasha
Once upon a time in a huge metropolis called Danville, Va. there was a tremendous college called Avery University. It was a really major school for continuing education which attracted many students from far-away cities to come attend it. When there was a meeting between all the colleges in the country, a young man approached some girl and asked her, "What school are you from?" she replied, "Yale." Tha's when he said , "Oh, alright then. WHAT SCHOOL ARE YOU FROM?!?!" ----------------------------------
As is the case with most bigger schools, the students had come up with their own clubs for the more special people in their dorms to join. In order to get into them the frat brothers would all have to come up with certain kinds of crazy stunts for the new freshmen who wanted to join them. One guy had to swallow so many goldfish. Another guy had to dress up like a girl and sneak into the sorority and take pictures of the girls while they're doing various embarrassing things. Yet one guy named Fredric, who was a lot bolder then any of the other guys who lived in their dorm, all of the students referred to him as, "Fearless Fred" for that reason, they wanted to come up with a stunt that was extremely frightening for any, "normal" person to do, but Fearless-Fred was anything but normal. Therefore, the guys told him for his stunt, he had to spend the night in an old, broken-down, abandoned house that looked really spooky. Sometimes lights would appear in the windows, but when anybody went to check it out, they would never return to tell the tail. Yet Fred didn't believe in paranormal things. Therefore he figured it would be a piece-of-cake for him to succeed at the task, so his frat brothers gave him some food with water, a gas stove, a cigarette lighter, some different cullered pens, his school books, a change of clothes and a gas lantern. Then they said, "Good luck, and good luck," and left him there while laughing. They each made moaning and growling sounds to frighten Fred, but he just said, "Aw, get out of here, you guys!" and laughed, while doing the same things back at them. He didn't believe in any kind of spooks, ghosts, paranormal or extra turestrial supernatural activities of any description.
That night after Fearless-Fred had finished his homework, it was going on 11:20 so he decided it was time for him to just call it a day, so he blew out the candles and then crawled into his sleeping bag. He chuckled to himself, thinking those crazy frat-brothers could have come up with some kind of stunt that would have been a lot more difficult for him to do. Later on after completing all of his homework, he then said his nightly prayers and blew out the candle to end his day on a high-note. This would be like nothing compared to some of the other students tasks. Besides, he knew there was no such things as ghosts or the super-natural things that went, "bump" in the night. His frat brothers had told him he didn't have to worry about those things that went, "bump" in the night, but that he needed to beware of all the things that went, "Aaaugh!" in the night. He was a really strong Christian believer in Jahova Neesy, which means our Protector, and so he said his nightly prayers and thanked the Lord for his frat-brothers giving him that easy thing to do in comparison to a lot of the other guys initiation stunts.
Although 45 minutes later he was awakened by the sound of footsteps and chains rattling. Then he heard an extremely mysterious voice which was moaning, "The veenda voasha is coming. Aw, the veenda voasha is coming,"
That alarmed Fearless-Fred, but he stood his ground and kept repeating to himself, "There is no such thing as spooks. There is no such thing as spooks."
Yet the sound kept getting closer and closer to him with a different voice chanting. "The veeda-voasha is coming. Aw, the veeda voasha is coming."
That made Fred lock and barricade the front door of that house with as many heavy items as he could find. Yet a different voice began getting closer and closer while a different eerie voice moaning like it was some banshee saying, "The veenda voasha is coming. Aw, the veenda voasha is coming."
Then Fred ran through the house and locked each door on his way while hoping he would be protected by doing all that stuff, yet the voices kept saying, "The veenda voasha is coming. Aw, the veenda voasha is coming."
By then poor Fred was about to have a heart attack, even though he was just 18 years-old. He ran up the stairs, locking every door as he sprinted through the doors, and yet the voices still kept on getting closer and closer while they continued saying the same scary words following him which, "The veenda-voasha is coming. Aw, the veenda-voasha is coming."
That guy everybody referred to as, " 'Fearless'-Fred" was then filled with fright. Even though he knew the acronym for fear was False Expectations Appearing Real. He'd heard the saying, "Face your fear and it will disappear."
Suddenly the door he was sure he had locked began to slowly unlock. That was when all of the scary banshee voices shouted and moaned, all in unison saying together, "The veenda voasha is here! The veenda voasha is here!"
That's when Fred heard the sound of the locked and bericaded door slowly creaking open which made some kind of sound that was way beyond eerie.
All of a sudden, a little man stuck his head in through the door which had been cracked open and announced with a right happy-sounding voice, "Hollo! I am the veenda-voasha! I've come to voash your veendas!!!!"
The end. A happy Halloween from yours, "ghouly." By, Cuz Roye.
