No one was right

Drama Horror Mystery

Written in response to: "End your story without answers or certainty." as part of Tell No One.

We’re all liars in this house.

Nobody was safe, everyone accused everyone of her death. Nobody knows who actually did it either…

Except for the killer.

“You liar!” Molly yelled from the top of the stairs, her finger pointing at Charlie.

“How could it be me?! How?”

The arguments were loud and long. Thank goodness we didn’t have neighbors for miles.

Molly went downstairs.

“You’re the only one who hasn’t said anything about her passing!”

“Because its a sensitive topic.” Charlie said, he was the only who was able to keep a straight face, at least since she passed.

“Will you two shut up?!” Axel snapped.

….

Everyone scattered, people tried avoiding people. 12 people cramed into a house in the woods, one of them being a killer.

Day after day, week after week nobody knew who was what.

“AH YOU KILLED HER!”

About five people ran down to see who was being accused. Their stood Sam cutting up an onion, as confused as us.

“Wait what?”

“YOU KILLED HER!”

“How?”

“Look at how you’re holding that knife! you must’ve killed her!”

…..

“You’ve gotta be messing with me”

The rest of us scattered at the sight of accusation.

“Well that was a waste of 15 minuets.”

“yeah no kidding”

The rest of the day was uneventful, everyone was mellow today, no rhyme no wrong. Almost like everyone was getting used to one another again.

…

That didn’t last long.

“Oh wow you’re being really quiet while walking, how do we know you didn’t kill her?”

“Can y’all shut up, I’m trying to take a nap” Zanade looked out of his room glaring at the two in the hallway.

“Its 6:30 in the morning, go the hell to sleep Milly, and Sarah… stop accusing people so damn early in the morning.”

…

In the morning Thalia and Odette sat out front, the two were always close, and even after her death they protected one another from the amount of accusations.

“Well, at least they don’t say it was us.”

“Well it wasn’t us in the first place.”

“Ehh that true, then again Cassian hasn’t been brought on the table”

“Everyone says he’s too young.” Axel said sitting down on the steps with them.

The three sat there for a while, calm and quiet. Until the rest woke up. Koi ran out, sucking air in through her mouth.

“ZANADE IS THREATENING TO THROW SARAH OUT OF A WINDOW. " Koi screamed before running back in.

Thalia, Odette, and Axel ran in, half expected to see a WWE match on the floor.

“What the hell…” Odette said confused as they walked in. Nothing was wrong, in fact it was calm.

Zanade sat in a chair at the old dinner table, writing, something he did quite often since he was little.

“Zan…? Did you say you were gonna throw Sarah out of a window?”

“No…? Did Sarah say I did?”

“Yeah she did. How do you know she-”

“That little brat” Zanade said, before walking back to his room, the door quickly shutting behind him with a click.

“Soooo…” Thalia started before stopping again. “Anyone want something to eat?”

The rest of the day was calm. Almost like the killer had left. Had they, or was something coming?

Cassian walked outside that familiar fall morning smell hitting him as he walked down the paved driveway, the one thing connecting them to the road. His hair lightly blowing in the wind.

“I’m sorry mom” Cassian said looking down the pavement, they were a mile into the woods, unable to see the road from here.

“Cassian! Get off the road.” Koi yelled from the porch waving for him frantically.

“Also Axel made us breakfast, so come eat” Koi turned walking back inside the door creaking as she closed it.

Cassian walked back slowly looking at the home that had once been lively. Now turned into a cold abyss, missing all its warmth. Cassian walked into the house, sitting next to Koi, Thank goodness Axel took care of them.

The wind was heavy with guilt as dried leaves dragged along the driveway, their autumn colors glimmering with pride as Sam sat outside.

“I hate this time of year. It always reminds me of her. Such a sad time” Sam sighed as he continued to watch the leaves.

Noah walked out playing a light tune on a guitar, Sam recognized it immediately.

““You’re really gonna play that? Its no longer September.”

“Just shut up and listen” Noah said before continuing with the notes. The tune was almost the same, it was sweet, but the song it sang was sad. Perfect for a day like today.

The song stopped, the wind being the only thing heard now.

“They’d be proud of how far you’ve come.”

“I know they would be. I just wish they could’ve seen me play.”

“I’m sure they’re watching”

“I hope…”

…

The rest of the day was chaotic Molly decided to lock herself in her room after Milly said she was the reason mom died. After the midday had passed and everything was cooling off Thalia, Odette, Axel, and Zanade were outside.

“Jesus its cold out here.”

“Thalia its ok, Odette’s next to you, she should be warm.”

“Yeah I’m right here girl.”

“Ok, but its still cold.”

“Y’all are wimps.”

“Ok Zan shut it”

The four sat there, a while in silence, listening for when one of them would have to go inside and break up the next screaming match. The time out there was nice, and the star gleamed brightly as they danced across the sky.

“It really is beautiful tonight.” Odette said looking up at the stars.

“It really is.” Zanade agreed.

Axel stood up walking inside for a few minuets before returning with a plate of different snack like items.

“I know some of us haven’t eaten all day” Axel said side eyeing Zanade.

“Ok, I feel targeted.”

“Good” Axel said chuckling a little.

….

Inside Cassian and Koi tried to get Molly to come outside, they pleaded, they put food outside, which she did take, they even tried busting down the door. Nothing was working.

“Molly Please just come out!” Koi pleaded for about the 100th time.

“Not until Milly apologizes!”

“She can’t apologize until you come out!”

“FINE” Molly yelled before opening the door, the three of them looked at Molly, she looked almost paler.

“I’m sorry Molly” Milly said as she gave her a hug.

“Thank you” Molly said hugging her back.

The rest of the night was calm, everyone was in their own little group. Once the clock struck 11 pm Odette and Thalia started getting tired, there words slowly slurring as they usually did when they were about to fall asleep.

Leaves crunched behind them as they talked stopping maybe a few feet away. It was too dark to see who it was, nor did they really care that much to pay attention.

“I know who killed her”

Everyone turned in shock looking at them.

“Its not who you think it is”

Another person appeared a little taller maybe Odette’s height.

“Its not who you think it is.”

This was a very interesting story. Grammarly is your friend! LOL, jk. But check up on the grammar a little bit. I kinda got a little lost, tbh. But for a beginner, this was good!
