The early 1800s, when I was a late teenager, were a time of deep sorrow and incredible revelations.
That period was marked by the profound and permanent loss of both my parents.
In my sadness, I discovered comfort by learning about the incredible heritage of Animikii Ningabii Strawberry-Moon.
This finding brought to light a strong ancestral line connected to Druidic, Elven, and Germanic practices, alongside a significant heritage with the Indigenous Saginaw-Chippewa Tribe.
The concept of Animikii Ningabii Strawberry-Moon being trapped within a “Time Loop” mechanism operates with remarkable effectiveness when it is seamlessly incorporated into the environment of a “phantom town.”
During a harrowing werewolf attack, the complex identity of Strawberry-Moon-Elf-Princess is unveiled; she is a Tribrid-Alpha possessing the qualities of a white/red Shadow {Air-Wolf}/Vampire/-Elements-Storm-Witch, as well as a Cleric-Shifter-Blood-Huntress/Rogue/Druid with roots in the Germanic-Indigenous-Saginaw-Chippewa tribe, a revelation that culminates in her profound self-discovery as a Wolf-Shifter, a Blood Huntress, and a Tribrid.
I came to understand my true identity as a Wolf-Shifter, a Blood Huntress, and a Tribrid.
Within me lived my inner wolf, Frost-Fang, a loyal member of the Silver Pack.
Alongside my faithful companion, I walked a path surrounded by ancient magic, ethereal energy, and the enduring spirit of the wolf.
In the quiet of this evening, I am seated by myself, bathed in the ethereal blue light cast by the fire.
As the darkness envelops everything, the only sounds that reach me are the far-off growls of wolves, serving as my sole companions.
The ancestral seat of my royal bloodline and the long-standing legacy of the Shadow-Moon Wolf Pack, Athkatla Castle, has consistently been my home, majestically positioned upon our exclusive private island.
The moment I prepared a cup of coffee, a cool breeze gently caressed my cheek.
As I gazed out my window at the peaceful purple night, there was an abrupt and striking shift as the sky unexpectedly became a brilliant gold.
A spectacular flash of lightning suddenly rent the nocturnal gloom, briefly exposing the dark figure’s form before the pervasive darkness reclaimed it.
Once I had added more wood to the fire, I left the kitchen, bringing with me my coffee that was still emitting steam.
At the exact instant my hand reached for my blanket, my eyes were suddenly drawn to a most unexpected and surprising sight.
I looked at the pictures of the family that were positioned on the mantle.
As the blue flames flickered and swayed, a noticeable disparity emerged, with one particular flame emitting a considerably stronger and more radiant glow than all the others.
My brother Cain’s portrait was bathed in light, drawing my gaze to his image.
An overwhelming surge of experiences and memories came rushing back.
The scene is etched in my mind: we were on the swings, convulsed with laughter, as our parents busied themselves with unpacking the provisions from their picnic basket for our lunch.
Until that precise moment, the afternoon had been entirely mundane and ordinary, a typical day unfolding as expected, but then an abrupt and significant alteration occurred.
In a sudden and unannounced turn of events, the most senior member of the Shadow-Wolf Pack was found kneeling and completely soaked in blood.
Amid a violent gust of wind that suddenly swept across the clearing, and with the eruption of war surrounding us, my parents were violently pulled away.
It was at that precise moment that my encounters with them definitively concluded.
The Blackthorn Academy of the Dark Arts was the designated institution for Cain, owing to his significant seniority.
The centaur Chiron brought me to the confines of the Forbidden Circle Shadow Academy.
Throughout the passing years, I committed myself to the diligent pursuit of my studies.
Within the considerable accumulation of books that occupied my desk, I found a highly informative text named Ethical Protocols and Containment, which detailed the procedures for responding to magical calamities, the methods for establishing protective wards, and the safe application of powerful spells.
Next to the aforementioned item lay the tome titled Runic Syntax and Linguistics, which served as an invaluable resource for those aspiring to gain proficiency in deciphering and using ancient symbolic tongues, such as Elven and Draconic, unlocking the potential to craft unique forms of magic.
The book known as Metaphysics and Soul Theory examined the underlying powers that dictate the progression of time, the unfolding of fate, the phenomenon of life, and the abstract concept of the soul.
A single book left a particularly unsettling impression on me.
“Forbidden Ethics” undertook an examination to explain the justifications for the outlawing of particular categories of magic, specifically encompassing mind control, blood magic, and spells that can alter the inherent natural balance of all existence.
My engagement with these texts was driven by a singular, specific aim.
I felt a strong desire to come to a better understanding of my brother’s personality and motivations.
The text in question detailed the existence of horrifying dark artifacts, all of which resulted from murder, and a key element of their construction involved the binding of a fragment of the victim’s soul to an object, enabling an unnatural state of perpetual existence.
It served as a caution about the dangers associated with possessing accursed artifacts, citing examples like the Opal Necklace and the Hand of Glory, both of which were created with the explicit purpose of destroying or morally compromising anyone daring enough to interact with them.
My chosen path was to forgo the study of forbidden incantations and instead immerse myself in the mastery of defensive magic, focusing on the development of protective wards that could effectively block and deflect even the most sinister spells.
My advanced studies ultimately directed my focus toward the specialized areas of Planar and Soul Magic, academic domains wherein researchers dedicated themselves to unraveling the secrets of parallel universes, comprehending the intrinsic qualities of souls, and mastering the art of summoning beings from celestial and infernal planes.
My room was abruptly entered, with no prior warning or a tap on the door, by Athena, a character known as the Artificer Rimekin Centaur.
I was taken aback by her abrupt appearance, but the intense look in her eyes communicated the critical nature of the situation even before she uttered any words.
“I’m referring to the bells,” she commented. The event will be held in The Grand Hall. The time to act is right now, with no delay.
Throughout the imposing structure of the castle, the distinct and sonorous ringing of the academy bells could be heard.
While I was rushing to keep up with her, I experienced a profound internal transformation.
The day before, I recall strolling under the light of a full moon. Being Strawberry-Moon Druid, a Strawberry-Moon-Elf, Mage, Witch, and Vampire, I was bitten by a werewolf, and my career shifted when Animikii Ningabii Strawberry-Moon Druid, a Strawberry-Moon-Elf, Mage, Witch, and Vampire, who had been bitten by a werewolf, developed red wolf ears.
An overwhelming and unbearable power coursed through my physical being.
My legs buckled beneath me unexpectedly, and as a result, I ended up collapsing.
While the persistent echoing of bells filled the academy, I was quickly hurried towards the infirmary by a group of concerned students and instructors.
In the liminal space between life and death, I felt a colossal force pushing relentlessly against unseen boundaries, exhibiting an undeniable urgency to escape.
With persistence and collaboration, the Head Elder, alongside the collective efforts of the other elders and the magical guardians, ultimately brought the threat under control and successfully secured the Grand Hall.
The students could get back to their lessons once the period of danger had concluded and was no longer a concern.
Following that occurrence, the elders who had not yet departed congregated at the side of my bed.
During a time of distress, their tranquil demeanor offered a welcome source of comfort that helped to calm my anxieties. For the first time since collapsing, I felt safe.
There was no sense of apprehension or fear regarding the possibility of my demise.
In place of other thoughts, the memories of my parents and my brother came to fill my mind.
At that very moment, the unvarnished truth became strikingly apparent.
My most cherished person, someone who held a place of unparalleled importance in my heart, was tragically lost to the churning, erratic vortex.
For a brief instant, I caught sight of Cain before he immediately disappeared.
Chiron was standing right by my bedside when I finally regained consciousness.
As the open window provided an entry point, a messenger owl gracefully flew inside, transporting a letter that was securely sealed.
Chiron handed me a tablet as my strength was slowly coming back.
Suddenly, a smoky vision of Cain emerged, featuring sea elf faces and a shipwreck. If this vision represented reality, then his last message about being at “The Blackthorn Academy of the Dark Arts”—an institution chosen for him because of his high rank—would be contradictory.
This was the juncture where an unnerving observation formed in my mind.
My gaze met only a wall as Cain steadfastly refused to meet my eyes.
When he finally looked at me, they were no longer the eyes I remembered.
The impression was that they were older than expected.
Frozen.
Their eyes seemed to pierce through my very essence, giving the distinct impression that they possessed the ability to perceive the entirety of my soul.
Despite everything, it was comforting to hear his voice again.
“When you recover,” he whispered, “I’ve left you a present.”
As his words lingered in my mind, strange symbols began swirling around me.
They weren’t ordinary words.
At its core, what they were dealing with was a collection of programming code.
One message stood out above all the others.
“The item in question is situated inside your dorm room.”
I was reminded by someone else to ensure that I never failed to remember the significant legacy that our family possesses.
Suddenly, both my spirit and my body responded with astonishing speed.
My strength returned, and my wounds healed far faster than they should have.
With permission, I returned briefly to my dormitory.
I discovered the gift Cain had referenced was there, awaiting my arrival.
The object in question is a cryptographical box, which functions as a puzzle requiring a secret code to be deciphered for its opening.
The contents revealed the foundational elements of an unsolved puzzle, hinting at secrets yet to be uncovered.
A communication delivered via email,
A communication that has been encrypted for secrecy,
a personal correspondence penned by hand,
An excerpt from a diary, intended for personal reflection and documentation,
a single ticket for train travel,
and a package that was quite mysterious in its appearance.
No matter what Cain had unearthed, he had intentionally set aside the resolutions for my discovery.
Suddenly, a vivid memory surfaced of when we were children and our parents would take us to the market, a place that wasn’t just any ordinary marketplace but a romantic world meticulously crafted from the essence of the Crescent City, and yet, amidst this enchanting backdrop, there was a yearning for the dark, investigative puzzle-solving that characterizes supernatural thrillers such as “The 7 ½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle.”
Upon awakening at my desk the subsequent day and diligently scrutinizing the pieces of evidence my brother had transmitted, a text message abruptly surfaced, stating: “Navigating through West Michigan, proceeding across the Tri-Cities, and making steady progress towards Southeast Michigan.”
This high-stakes and intricately layered conflict is on the verge of expanding to such a degree that it threatens the very survival of “Forbidden Circle Shadow Academy” and carries the significant risk of initiating a war that could engulf a multitude of supernatural factions.
As an integral component of The Shadow-Moon Pack, a group held in high regard, Cain, who is also my brother, fulfills the vital function of a Sea-Elf Messenger of the Deep Winds.
It is within the City Coven that the prestigious Blackthorn Academy of the Dark Arts is situated and hosted.
In a mystery game, this feature provides the investigator with the opportunity to not only experience the consequences of failure but also to subsequently re-attempt their actions, facilitating the discovery of “digital evidence” and historical details that would be impossible to uncover within a story that progresses strictly sequentially.
This situation confirms that the protagonist’s achievement is not solely a personal triumph but also a critical element for the continued existence of her entire population.
It turned out to be nothing more than a dream, and when I awoke in the medical center managed by elves, I observed everyone had gathered around me, until the head-teacher commanded that their presence was no longer necessary and instructed them to resume their academic duties.
The head-teacher then revealed that the collective dreaming was a precursor to the elder’s arrival, as they were scheduled to host a City Coven at the prestigious Blackthorn Academy of the Dark Arts.
The ball’s final arrangements were being made by me, seated in the “Forbidden Circle Shadow in Hotel Suite 214,” following several days of intense preparation.
The elder had informed us that this significant event would be hosted by the Blackthorn Academy of the Dark Arts and would be held at the Moonstone-Castle-Island Academy, in the City Coven.
Chapter: 2,
A fascinating and one-of-a-kind visual storytelling approach is achieved through the depiction of a paranormal blogger, who is immediately recognizable by their distinctive all-seeing “purple hourglass eyes,” and who is shown diligently using a digital archive in their dedicated efforts to solve a mysterious, ancient, and pulsating magical enigma, functioning as a significant aesthetic draw.
A unique ambiance, characterized by a blend of the novel and the disquieting, is achieved through the fusion of the modern idea of a “live-streamed murder” and the high-fantasy environment of “Athkatla-Castle.”
As a flood of recollections from my youth returned to me, I remembered the war, the distressing period when my brother and I were unfortunately separated, his subsequent choice to enroll in The Blackthorn Academy of the Dark Arts, and the distinct trajectory my life took, which ultimately guided me toward the Forbidden Circle Shadow.
As Chiron’s voice interrupted my daydream, I felt a pang of embarrassment and handed over my artwork.
As the final bell for the class sounded and I was the last individual to depart from the classroom, a deep voice halted my progress in my tracks and, responding with a “yes, sir,” I was then asked by Chairon, after taking a breath, what the issue was with my demeanor that day.
Exhausted in my dorm room, I was trying to cheer myself up for the upcoming ball, as most of the preparations were almost complete. Suddenly, Gold-Moon-Tara burst in, shouting, “Stop with the preparations!” At that moment, a whirlwind swept us away to a different dimension.
My brother Cain was searching my dorm room for me while we were floating, aware that something was amiss. His expression was picked up by some friends, and the rest had gone to the ball. A rift opened at that moment, rescuing us.
Animikii Ningabii Strawberry-Moon informed Cain that they couldn’t dwell on it, as a celebration was imminent, but something was bothering her, leading her to wander into a locked room, hotel suite 214.
