Deja vu. You know what it feels like. Or do you? Perhaps a faint sliver of memory. A signal going heywire? Or just your brain trying to free up some space. Whichever you pick, i can assure you, that it is wrong. There is one more thing. God is real. Don’t rejoice. For he is not to be worshipped. He isn’t to be feared either, unless you are reading this. Listen closely. You are now one of us. You are now a seer. Benefits? None. Well…if you count it or not, you get a glimpse of the maker.
Is there Suffering? Immeasurable. What’s the point then? Release. Thousands upon thousands of generations have suffered without a goal. Forced to go trough the very thing you are about to witness. And why? They won’t ever know. Some were fortunate enough to go insane after 1 blink. The others might have been crazy beforehand. But, they managed to keep a sense of self. Again and again, they returned empty-handed. Leaving something behind. A memory. It was trough these unwilling sacrifices we learned the reason for our existence. And what it wants. What it needs. Our Ideas. Our Ingenuity. Our Capability to Kill. And what it wants. What it needs. Our Ideas. Our Ingenuity. Our Capability to Kill. Life finally had purpose. To end it. To end the Creator.
Still following? Good. Now some history. Why? Because out there, you will need every bit of motivation. Mind over matter and all that. But in all seriousness, preserve your mind at all cost. I once saw a guy grinnin ear to ear literally crawling out of probably the worst blink of his life with the words; I got a good one. No, he was not reffering to the blink itself. There are no good ones. But, there are bad ones. How do you know its a bad one? It will feel like a good one.
The phrase: i got a good one, is a very special one. First Great Discoverer said it. He was the last to arive. tossing a pebble seemingly out of boredom. Every source agrees that this happened. No one in that room could move, except for him. Which to them seemed absurd. He looked fine. Some wear and tear, sure. But nothing a bath and a good sleep couldn't fix.
Some of the guys blinked for the first time. To them, the hardest thing they ever did. Experience so terryfing, you wish it was your last. The effort to keep oneself sane, is almost paralyzing the first time, and all of that was being ridiculed, by him. So why? Why couldn't they move? Respect. Not in the way you know. It was almost being forced. Not by him, but by what he did. They didn't know what that was. Then he walked. The only thing he said; I got a good one. They turn to finaly say something and freeze. Realization. Terror. Gratitude. And finally Respect.
Because as he continued walking, three bolts from a balista were seen hanging from his back. Wounds around them already sealed. His skin glowed with this sickly green color. All muscles withered away. Remember that few of them blinked for the first time? There were three.
What was explained to them after he walked away probably shaped the way we do things. At certain times a Person would appear infront of you with a proposition. You could ease someones blink, but make yours significantly harder. It was consensus to never take the deal. After all, no one came back after doing so. The effects were minimal, almost negligent. But to him? It was something he had to do. It was what he vowed to do, after having his own first blink eased. Never able to thank his saviour. But to him? It was something he had to do. It was what he vowed to do, after having his own first blink eased. Never able to thank his saviour. Now they wanted to thank him. However that cannot be. As if a new rule was set in place. Dangerous one. Everyone suddenly knew, after having your blink eased, you must take the next offer by the Person.
If the effects were so minimal how do we know it saved him? By the description he gave; It was as if the heavens opend up and i saw light for the first time, my eyes able to percieve color again. But most importantly? It was something distant. So foreing, yet familiar. Drawing closer and closer. I couldn't place it. No that wasn't it. I abandoned it. I didn't deserve it. But there it was. Will to continue. Why? Why me? For what purpose has it chosen me. Oh, thats why. At that point only he knew, the rule and what it meant. This next part he only told later. He seemed scared. Almost trembling. The rule is my fault. From this point on you will have to endure much, much harder blinks. I had the option to kill myself and bury the rule with me. But i couldn't. I didn't seem fair to the one that saved me. But to be brutaly honest, i was scared to die.
The silence was deafening. Everyone looking to the ground. Waiting for him to leave.
Crushed with guilt, he did.
The tension in the room was almost painful. But people clung to theatrics. One of the very few ways to lighten the mood. So people engaged in them even when not necessary.
The first great discoverer stopped in his tracks. Did he hear correctly?
You owe us no apology. We should have done it long ago.
So what did he discover? A sentence. Mundane yet impactful. It Read.
Its comparable to a game.
Game? Yes. Why? I already told you. Why risk your life? Your sanity? For release. So no one else has to go trough what we experience. It also gives hope. Games can be won. You can gain something.
Now I am sorry, i reminisined too much about the past. Wait you? Who knows. But...now its your time to blink.
