Deal with it 🏠

This is really short, but it's the 17th part of Home. 😁

Daniel wakes up to the smell of bacon and pancakes. 

He yawns, and sits up. He didn't have any more nightmares, which is a relief.

He walks into the kitchen, where Catherine is at the stove, scooping bacon off of a skillet, and dropping them on a plate.

“Hey, Daniel.” She smiles when he walks beside her.

He smiles, too. “Hey. Can I help?”

“Sure.” She says. “Can you flip the pancakes for me?”

He didn’t expect her to have him help with food, but he nods, and reached for the spatula. She doesn’t ask about why he was in the living room, which he greatly appreciates.

Somehow, he doesn’t burn anything. He helps her make the food, then they put plates on the table.

“Smells good,” They hear Angel mumble as she walks into the kitchen in pajamas. She raises her eyebrow. “Daniel cooked? Is it safe?”

He huffs. “Yes, it’s amazing, and you’re going to love it.”

She laughs, and sits at the table after giving Catherine a hug.

“Daniel? Want to go wake TJ up?” Catherine asks.

He nods, and walks upstairs. TJ’s laying on the bed, his arm over his eyes, snoring. 

“TJ, wake up.” Daniel says, poking his side. 

He rolls over, mumbling at him. Daniel tickles his side, and TJ laughs into a pillow. “Okay, okay, I’m up.”

“C’mon, we made breakfast.”

He yawns, and sits up. “We?”

“Yeah, I helped.” 

He squinted. “And nothing burned?”

“Nope. C’mon.”

“Wait,” TJ says, grabbing his wrists. “Do you want to talk about the nightmare?”

Daniel shakes his head. “No.”

“Okay. But you’ll tell me if it happens again?”

“Mhm-hm.”

TJ kisses him, then they go downstairs. Daniel doesn’t mention the nightmare to anyone. He doesn’t want them to worry.

The nightmares come back, almost every night. TJ can’t stay over all the time though, so Daniel wakes up alone. Oddly, sleeping in the living room helps. Angel, Riley, and Catherine haven’t said anything about it, but he’s sure Angel wants to ask.

Angel seems to get it, though, and her and TJ try to distract Daniel from thinking about it.

Daniel meets more of his family. Antonio, Catherine’s brother, who doesn’t have any kids, Diamond, who has two girls, Crystal and Sapphire, and Marcus, her youngest brother.

The police found out that Blake was tracking Daniel’s phone, but then it fell in the water, and broke, and he couldn’t find him. But he already had Catherine’s address, though he didn’t know it was her at the time. 

So, he showed up, then realized whose house it was. That didn’t help at all, though.

All in all, he’s in jail right now.

Daniel doesn’t really want to hear about it, but hearing it does make him feel better. He knows Blake won’t be going anywhere near him.
