Abra Cadabra! Boom! Ah, my master must be at it again I thought as I slithered around the room. Remembering how her last potion left me transfigured into a mouse for a week. I could only imagine what master Nuwa was working on now. Master Nuwa was a young witch abandoned by her family for lacking in the art of witchery. Master Nuwa is frail looking physically but her spirit was undeniable and her commitment to her craft was unmatched. This is how she caught my attention in the first place. I was deeply in love with her, we were to do great and wonderous things together, unfortunately, I was not the only one mesmerized by her. Another warlock of old magic also took a liking to Nuwa. I was no match for him and I knew it, however, one day in a fit of rage, I tried to end his life. As I mentioned I was no match for his old magic and with a flick of his wrist I was transfigured. Master Nuwa tried to reverse it but his old magic was unknown to her. Now I am but a tester for whatever concoction or spell she comes up with next. Master Nuwa used to try and lift the curse, but she hasn't tried in some time now.

Boom! "Not again" she cried out! Ash and sut covering her face again, this wasn’t new Nuwa loved to experiment with potions, but I must confess it wasn’t her strongest area of expertise. She seemed more frustrated than normal huffing and puffing as she stammered around the room. She finally sat on her old wooden rocking chair thinking and talking out loud. “Spider eggs, no, sun dried worms” she sat pondering various ingredients. Out of nowhere Nuwa sprung to her feet and dashed over to the cauldron. She started to repeat the ingredients out loud again. “three spider eggs, a handful of sundried worms, the heart of a virgin, the right eye of a black bear and a dash of fairy tear” she repeated as she was adding the ingredients. She began to stir vigorously. “Not hot enough” she exclaimed and then with a flick of her wrist the flames rose around the cauldron. After a few minutes the liquid began to boil over the cauldron. She raced over to her small cabinet in the corner and grabbed a glass vile from the drawer. She returned to the cauldron and filled the vile.

"Get over here" she yelled, I turned in time to see her marching towards me with the vile. She swiftly grabbed me by my head and poured the foul potion down my throat. The liquid burned as it flowed down my throat, I fell to the floor and began to feel like I was burning from the inside out. After several minutes I felt a surge of energy within me, like lightning. I felt light and agile. I raced around the room until I caught my reflection in her old mirror. "My God" I exclaimed, I have doubled in size, and my eyes were huge, giant bright yellow slits staring back at me. I was overwhelmed; this was the first time one of her potions didn’t hurt or cause me harm in some way. “Did you make me a super snake” I asked? Nuwa laughed, “you will find out soon enough” she jeered.

"No, my friend! I have finally done it" she screamed excitedly! Done what I thought. Master Nuwa came over to me and picked me up. She slowly wrapped my body around hers. It has been a long-time sense I felt her skin against mine like this.Nuwa has put me on her before, but her skin didn’t feel the same as when I was human but this time it did. She peered into the old mid-evil mirror, when my eyes looked into the mirror the reflection was of her and me before the curse, in human form. I could feel it too, her touch her smell I could feel it all. "You did it" I shrieked, you made me human again, however I quickly realized I was still a snake. "I made you immortal and intertwined are fates, there is no you without me and no me without you" she said. I felt a rage deep inside of me, I never shared this with her, but my only relief was that I knew one day I would die and no longer be a snake. My body began to tighten around master Nuwa, I couldn't stop it or control it, this rage reminded me off the feeling before I tried to defeat the old warlock, it felt all too familiar but I couldn’t release or control it and before long we both hit the floor. I managed to untangle myself from her body, but I was confused as to why I was still alive and I again peered into the mirror. The image of both my master and me in human form was still staring back at me. Then suddenly, the reflection of my master burst into laughter, then flames. All that was looking back was two pale yellow slits. I watched as the image faded away. I frantically raced around the room again however, I noticed very quickly I had shrunk back to my normal size, and I didn’t have the speed or agility anymore. I again found myself in front of the mirror. This time nothing was looking back at me. No master, no me in human form not even me as I am now.

Then in what appeared to be red lettering a message appeared. “I know you all to well, I couldn’t return you to your human form physically, however, are souls will remain together for eternity” the message faded and a new one appeared. “I love you and you were the best companion I could have ever asked for, I will not leave you behind, go outside at dawn and curl up on the big rock, all will be answered when the sun rises” signed Nuwa. I immediately slithered out to the big rock and curled up. As the sun began to rise, I heard a noise I had never heard before. I was staring up into the sky and saw nothing. Then out of nowhere, a giant eagle swooped me up and started flying towards the sun. At first, I started to struggle but then calm came over me and I was paralyzed. My eyes fixed to the sun, I soon realized the eagle and I became one.
