Trixie's day- Siblings

“Um. No. You wouldn't pay me.” I say glaring at my brother Ethan and my sister Lolly.

“But whyyyyy! You said you're gonna hang out with us more…then you chicken out?” my sister pouts.

“Yeah but…I didn’t expect it to be this…”

Crazy. But I’m saying that out loud cause I don’t want to hurt any feelings.

“Skatboard-y?” I say instead.

Ethan covers his laugh with a cough.

“What…like you can do that…” I mutter.

“Um. What are you talking about? I do that all the time! C’mon sis. It’s not that bad!” Ethan reminds me.

I roll my eyes. Not that bad? We are at the top of the tallest skateboard ramp I’ve ever seen! But my siblings keep telling me that there's bigger ones.

“Uhhhhh! Fine we’ll go first then you go after. Let’s roll Ethan.” sighs Lolly.

“Bye!” Ethan says cheerfully, hopping on his skateboard then zooming down the ramp.

Breathe. You got this.

“Wahoooo! This is so fun!” exclaims Lolly.

When they land Lolly looks up and pulls out her phone to record it for me.

I glare at her.

“Don’t mind me!” smirks Lolly.

I gulp and look down. The ground is super far away.

“Trixie…are…are you okay?” asks Ethan.

“Yep! Never been better…” I say as I put my foot on the skateboard.

“Woaw! What happened?” Mom asks when we enter the house.

“Trixie got so scared she slipped. So on the ramp she was sliding on her butt the whole time. I got it on video if you want to see it.” answers Lolly.

Ethan chuckles.

“Thats not funny! I’m still sore!” I shoot back.

“Okay! Okay!” Ethan says.

“Phew.” I say, sitting down on the couch.

I flinch.

“Need some ice?” Mom asks getting an ice pack out of the freezer.

“Yes please.” I reply.

I take out my phone to see a few underead messages.

Araminta: Trixie! Are you okay???

Izzy: Call me!

“Huh? How do Minty and Izzy know I fell?” I mumble.

A guilty looking Lolly runs up the stairs.

“What did you do?!” I yell at her.

“Um. Check all your messages.” Lolly responds looking at her phone.

I open our group chat with all of our friends.

“Oh. No. You. Didn’t.” I start.

“WHY DID YOU SEND EVERYONE IN THE VIDEO?!”

I would’ve got up and tackled her if I wasn’t ‘injured’.

Lolly looks at the ground and shrugs. I look back at my phone to see what everyone said. Izzy: Oh wow! 😅

Liam: Oof

Harper: 😬

Andrew: Oh no! Hope she's ok…

Ethan: Yeah she’s fine.

Lolly: She will be up and running in no time 🤭

Me: Yall I’m ok! 🙄🙂

Izzy: Yay!

Paisley: 👏

When I look back up Lolly’s already gone.

“LOLLY! GET DOWN HERE! I’M NOT DONE WITH YOU!” I scream.

“TRIXIE! Inside voice please. You do not need to be yelling at your sister." Mom says with authority.

“Sorry Mom.” I mumble.

“Ethan, tell Lolly to come down here.” I tell him.

Ethan just looks at me.

“Please?”

“That's more like it.” He says then goes up stairs.

I sigh, siblings can be so annoying! I love my older brother but he can get on my nerves. Lolly is always annoying. Why did she send that video in the GC? Now everyone thinks I’m really bad at skateboarding. They were probably laughing the whole time they were watching the video! Oh. No. I just got a horrible thought. Andrew watched it! What if he thinks I’m super clumsy now?

Lolly walks slowly and cautiously down the stairs.

“Yes? You wanted me?” she asks nervously.

I glare at her.

“Why? Why did you do that?”

Lolly shrugs.

“Did you even think when you sent the video?”

“Yeah. I thought you would be okay with it! I mean you were probably going to tell your BFFs anyway!”

“You don’t know that! And if I did you still told your best friends who are in that chat…like…like…Harper!”

Lolly bites her lip.

“Well?” I ask.

“Well what?”

“Aren’t you going to apologize?"

“I have homework.” She mumbles then runs upstairs.

I groan. This girl is impossible!

I go upstairs to my room, shut the door then text my cousin Fern.

Me: You can’t believe what Lolly did today!

Fern responds in 2 minutes.

Fern: What did she do?

Me: Call and I’ll tell u bout it.

Fern: K

Fern calls my phone.

“Heyyy young cuz! How are you doing?” says Fern as soon as I answer. Fern is older than me by 4 years, she's 20.

“Bad! I fell on a skateboarding ramp, so I slid down the ramp instead of rolling down it.”

“Oh no!”

“I’m fine now but Lolly recorded it!” Then I tell her what happened.

“Well…I think you need to give Lolly a chance. I mean she's younger than you! And besides…she was probably trying to…oh I don’t know…impress you? Younger siblings look up to their older ones a lot you know…and they can be a lot of fun!”

“Well she made me mad! And she didn't even apologize!"

“Well I think you should talk to her. She probably doesn't know what she did wrong.”

“But-” I protest.

“‘Kay I got to go. Please talk to Lollipop. Talk to you later cuz.” Fern says then she hangs up.

I sigh. No one gets it. But maybe Fern is right…

I peek my head out of my room. Lolly’s door is cracked open and I hear her talking to someone in hushed tones.

I go over and lean on her door to eavesdrop.

“Hey it’s okay Lolly.” I hear someone say. Ethan! I realize. She’s talking to him.

“No it’s not! She’s mad at me!” I hear her say.

“No she’s not. She probably didn’t mean anything she said.” Ethan assures.

Lolly sniffles.

Wait what? Lolly’s upset she sent that video? Huh? I sigh then open the door.

“Lolly I-” I start.

“Trixie-” Lolly starts.

Then we laugh.

“You go.” I say.

Lolly takes a deep breath.

“Okay. So I'm sorry for sending that video to your friends. I just thought…I don’t know…” says Lolly looking at the ground.

“Hey it’s okay!” I say then sit next to her on her bed. “I know you didn’t mean it to upset me. And I should’ve been a better sister and not have blown up on you like that. “

“Yeah you could’ve been a better sister…” Ethan says.

We laugh.

“Are we good then?” I ask Lolly.

Lolly smiles. “Yeah we’re good.”

“I’m curious…I never watched the video. Can you show me?”

“Sure. I edited it too! Let the record show, I made it so people laugh with you! Not at you.”

Lolly assures.

“Okay okay! Let’s watch it already!” I reply.

While watching it we all laugh. This is fun. Fern’s right siblings are not that bad!
