Log 1:
This is ******* reporting from the Explorer Class 5 ship ‘Deliverer’, I have landed in through the tree lines of TS-9018, and you were right. This planet is beautiful, the vegetation seems to be akin to the red wood forests of SS-4236, the trees are, according to the ship, at least a kilometre tall and a few meters wide with massive webs of branches and leaves. And the wide open space I landed in, has dark brown and slightly moist soil, perfectly green grass and crystal clear water too, we really hit the jackpot here, this is amazing. I took the oxygen levels through the ships vents, and they came back at an atmospheric level of 50%, definitely toxic, especially over prolonged periods of time, nothing we can’t fix with a bit of terraforming, in the meantime I just used the oxygen helmets fixed to myself, and released myself onto the planet, my first act was to grab a water and a soil sample from the nearby sources, and run it through the decomposition chamber and the water came back close to perfection, 99.0% H20 Molecules, and ~1% various minerals including Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium and so on and so forth, the scan also revealed no dangerous microbes, its fantastic drinking water, as for the soil, its running through the decomposition chamber as I log this. In conclusion, outside of the toxic atmosphere, its completely habitable so far, and can sustain the citadel’s arrival, so we can then figure out what to do with the planet, having it in our control would definitely shift the course of the war in our favour. For now, I have switched the temperature stabilisation in the ship on, and plan to rest the night. I, I will log the soil and night cycle of TS-9018 first thing in the morning, Godspeed, and God bless the citadel. ******** signing out.
Log 2:
That was a rough sleep, the ship would non stop creak and crack all throughout the night, that is the harsh reality of sleeping on a ship, at least I can log the night cycle of TS-9018 now. Checking the ships time log, the sun set at 2000 our time, and rose again approximately 0600 our time, definitely a shorter night cycle then I would have hoped for, maybe fewer night predators thrive due to this? As for it’s moons, there are two, and I have the god given privilege of naming them, I will name one of them Rubrum due to it being a blood moon last night, the other will be named Lutum due to it’s muddy colour and dirty look, that's all the notable occurrences from the night cycle that passed, now the soil. 23% air, 27% water, 45% minerals and 5% organic matter, another aced test, its great soil, possibly even better then SS-4236’s soil, however in this victory, I see the cause for our only loss. The soil's immense fertility means the plant life thrives in abundance, which in turn leads the plants to commit photosynthesis at up to thrice the rate of normal, of course leading to more oxygen output. I, I will of course test the plant life in order to find the solution before your arrival.
On the note of fauna, I have yet to see any, while I hear the occasional chirp of hum of a bird, they remain to be seen, no faeces, no tracks, nothing. I’m interested in how they adapted to such an oxygen rich planet, could they camouflage? I will try to further these tests in the future. Godspeed, and God bless the Citadel, ******** signing out.
Log 3:
I’m back, and an add on to a previous observation, it seems Rubrum is just a red moon, as it glowed crimson again last night, unusual yet interesting. Right back to the present, I collected a plant sample, just a single blade of grass but I hope it will be enough, I get creeped out whenever I’m outside for long periods of time. And while I ran that through the high definition scanner to isolate it’s properties, I ran a diagnostic of the planet's atmosphere and simulated it through the 100 year, 1,000 year and 10,000 year mark at it’s current inflation count per day. not much changes by the century mark, by the millennia mark the atmospheric oxygen levels rise by 10% but by the 10s of millennia mark, the number of plants on TS-9018 would increase by twenty times, leading to a global rise in oxygen by 1,000%, which may I stress, is enough to instantly eliminate us and any of our structures we build, we must act fast to terraform, my recommendation is in less than a few years, building structures and demolishing plants can slow the rate at which it produces in our favour, but nonetheless, speed is key in this scenario. Godspeed and God bless the citadel, this is ******** signing out.
Log 4:
The wildlife seems curious, yet scared. Knocking, knocking on the cabin door woke me up last night at 0100 hours, it wasn’t heavy knocking but small, almost hesitant knocking. When, when I checked the camera, whatever it was, was startled and must have ran away because I saw nothing on the feed. However the feed still gives an eerie feeling, I am going to keep my bio-rifle unstrapped and at the ready at all times from now on. However the main reason for this log is the experience I just beheld. About, about an hour ago, I stepped foot off the ship with the main goal in mind to venture further than I have yet to do. So that I did, notably I walked on the outskirts of the woodland area for about ten minutes in the same direction, however to my bewilderment, I came face to face with my ship again, same direction, same path I took, but now reversed. I ran into the ship and scanned myself for any abnormalities, believing myself to perhaps be under the influence of a hallucinatory substance. However the scan revealed both my hippocampus and entorhinal cortex were suffering from an outside force, no toxins were revealed and no cause in sight, my brain was just simply being triggered in those two regions specifically. Though the scan says no toxins, perhaps it could be my brain adjusting to the new gravitational force? Or some other unforeseen variable? I’m just going to try and rest it off, this setback won't interfere with my mission. Godspeed and God bless the Citadel, ******** signing out.
Log 5:
Someone is here, that I am sure of. Last night upon my ailed sleep I heard the ground crunch several times, waking me up each time. Each time I remained breathless, some of the steps came right up to the wall I was sleeping against then stopped. For, for hours I wondered if it was just on the other side still, waiting, but exhaustion took hold and I slipped deeper into the realm of sleep. When I awoke, I raced to the ship controls and checked the door logs, thankfully it never opened through the night, and feeling much better, I took my Bio-rifle, exited the ship, took aim and fired into the woods at random, some shots hit the tree trunks and some just hit dirt, but I fired none the less. A primal show of dominance, that’ll teach whatever half evolved cave-twit out there that it’s our planet for the taking now, my mission will not be halted by some lesser-then tapping my ship to scare me off. I closed the door to the ship and powered down my bio-rifle. I assure you, I will prepare this planet for colonisation, despite the wildlife’s feelings toward it. ******** Signing out.
Log 6:
I apologise for yesterday's log. I lost myself for a while which is unlike me. Since, since my fury I have started a small deforestation project, clearing some space to build a landing pad for the freight carriers for when you send them to me, I just hope they carry all we need. I have tried the new carpentry tool, it’s a small little device that when I attach to a tree, grows and explores the length of the trunk, before segmenting it with it’s saws and safely lowering them to the ground, while it did take the better part of an hour you’re on the right track, if you were to perfect this, it would be a game changer. After a few hours of that, I then set up the mass 3d printing machine, setting my four markers and the structure I am going to build, here it being a landing pad for freight carrier class ships, and it got to work, I just need to keep the area near the markers stocked of bio-degradable material for it to use of course. But this is a massive step for us and I cannot believe how close we are already. Godspeed and God bless the Citadel, I’ll see you all soon, ******** Signing out.
Log 7:
I am shaking while attempting to write this log. At approximately 1600 hours as I was filling the markers with more bio-degradable material I turned to face the forest and there traversing the outskirts of the woods, pacing up and down, was a light. No mass, no form, just light, but it was moving as if it were walking? I ran straight into the ship, but as the door was closing I saw over the top that it was now floating toward the ship. The door shut with a big thud and then there was silence for a few minutes, and as of now, it’s knocking on the door, like a stranger trying to get your attention, thrice at a time then nothing, then thrice more. I will hold out as much as I am able to but I am in need of assistance, I am going to send out a distress signal now.
Log 8:
It has ceased it’s knocking and now it mutters, I have no idea the language but
It resembles English? But some sort of broken, lost form of it. As if this is the first time it’s speaking this language. I received a status update from the ship and as the switches on the screen glowed green indicating several returned signals from my equipment, my antenna’s switch was red indicating that it had been disabled. I am unsure if my distress signal even left the atmosphere or if anyone even knows I am in trouble. The same goes for my cameras, however that may have been the immense light frying the camera through the lens. ******** out.
Log 9:
Jesus Christ, it spoke to me, after nine hours of it muttering to itself at the door, the light pouring in from the crevices, it spoke to me, right at me. It said “help, please help me, I’m hurt, help” I threw up in the toilet upon hearing it at first, the voice seems wrong, false, like it’s speaking but, there's no weight to its words. I tried recording it using the ship's inside camera's audio isolation feature, however when I activated the isolation mode on the camera it didn’t pick up any audio from the door. Removing the audio isolation feature I just heard myself hyperventilating for five minutes with no outside noise, the camera doesn’t even pick up the light that seeps in through the door. It cannot be a severe hallucination as none of the scans I run on myself come back positive for any hallucinatory substance or toxins. I’m being attacked and I don’t know how.
Log 10:
It has now been thirty-six hours, and I’m running thin on my patience, and my rations. I was supposed to have everything set up by now for your arrival but I could never have anticipated this. It shows no sign of wavering, as the light continues to shine the same way it did yesterday, and it’s now screaming at me through the door. The scream starts human then devolves into something like sheet metal being dragged down a gravel road. I’m going to try my last resort and open the door to fire at it, the bio-rifle is very powerful, though I have my doubts, I genuinely don’t see any other way out of this, and I took an oath to you, and I, a man of honour, will die by that oath if need be. Godspeed and God bless the Citadel, ******** Signing out.

Log 12:
This is embarrassing to log, a storm ran through the area while I locked myself in the ship and disabled my antenna and cameras. It seems the storms on this planet consist of immense gusts of wind and severe lighting strikes, as the area outside the ship is torn asunder. Moreover, it seems right before a storm enters the area, for an unknown reason the sun glows at a higher intensity, I assume it has something to do with cloud formations not blocking or amplifying the sun's rays. I am ashamed to have jumped to such ridiculous conclusions so severely, but I will now voyeur my return to the citadel and detail my logs to you all, as well as introduce you all to the planet and its ecosystem. This is Nicholas signing out.
You close the ruined ship's log. That's weird, because you’re nowhere near TS-9018, or the Threplar System in general, this is the AS and you’re on AS-4394, a desert junk planet with scrap metal over every mound and hill of sand, and you just watched this ship crash land down from orbit. The final member of your crew finishes plucking the last valuable thing from the carcass and you decide to just turn tail, buyers don’t care after all. You enter the ship to lift off with your crew, but you're left confused as now, suddenly, there's not enough seats on the ship.

I love the story every much, especially the ending. Using second person POV is a brilliant choice.
