Essentially, the three founding members of Wizard Enterprises had hatched a hopeful plan. It was something different from Rochelle's daily routine. As Spring was approaching, it was time for school dances, for social meetings. Teenage girls really wanted to meet and greet a date.
Rochelle, the witchy woman of high school, was a much needed key player for Todd and Jarryd, due to her developing magic skills. The three potential leaders of witchcraft of the future had been plotting their scheme in the after-school library club. Mrs. Haggle had tried not to eavesdrop. She had restored all the library shelves, and shook her head. But she nobly sourced some lovely books for Rochelle, all about reading auras and palms.
It was Todd's great idea. Jarryd was destined to collect the fees from a suitable range of students and their siblings. Todd was to create advertising, and seek customers from the newly named, 'Romance Services'. This was to be a dating group, where Rochelle would the hands of each customer, study their heartline, and then interpret their aura. Todd and Jarryd would have a checklist of auras, and everyone would have their perfect match.
Todd was full of marketing concepts. Jarryd wanted to be the first customer, for a reduced fee. That way, he could write a glowing review of the service as a satisfied client. He was having difficulties in meeting Little Miss Right. Rochelle rolled her teen eyes, but did not comment. She was still secretly hoping that Todd's aura would align with hers. She had been studying this spellbinding aspect of being the witch of tomorrow, and could do with some money to lighten her load.
Jarryd designed a whole pile of fliers and posters, and sent text messages to all he could. Todd sat in the library and was ready to take bookings, say 15 minutes for each consultation with Rochelle. Mrs. Haggle did agree to let their Romance Service take place in the library, both at lunchtime and after school. Todd wanted Rochelle to cast a love spell on each new couple. Rochelle was a bit reluctant, some of her spells did backfire on her. She had sent a love spell to Jarryd, and that had ended in a dramatic bust up. Still, her slightly romantic nature believed that there was a true love for everyone, a soulmate. Despite wishing to be a thinking woman, if they all grew up, she too needed a date for the big Spring dance. Romance Services might take away the competition for dates among all the gals at every level.
Rochelle was the key player in Wizard Enterprises, but each of its three members were doing their part. Jarryd and Todd cheekily asked Mrs. Haggle if she could be a test customer, to see if she could get a soulmate to date. Mrs. Haggle merely shook her head, declining the invitation. "No", she said, "I am too mature to seek a male. Mr. Haggle was unique enough. At my age, a woman reaches a golden plateau, leave all that shenagigans to younger ones. Someday, you three will understand. Rochelle's gifts are limitless and should be used for the greater good. Still, great to get practice, good luck with your Romance Service. I am always here to support youngters with magical talents."
Jarryd looked at Todd, and said, "That sounds like a definite knockback."
Rochelle only said, "Don't get discouraged. I'll spread the word to the other girls in Science. Biology can be fun!"
"Great slogan!" Todd laughed, "Use that one, Jarryd."
"I'd rather be reading," Mrs. Haggle was now trying not to smile, as she handed Rochelle an ancient book to read. It was titled, 'Your Sixth Sense.'
"Oh, heavy, witchy woman." Both the boys thought it was going to be a great start for Wizard Enterprises to succeed in business.
Rochelle did have a winning way with persuading some of the other girls to join Romance Services. After school sessions in the library began for Wizard Enterprises. After Rochelle had held the palm of Jarryd, there waited Bronte, Amelia, Teagan, Georgia, Luna, Ruby and Charlotte. Jarryd had to book these lassies in stages. Some of the teenage boys had also heard about this new innovation. All their auras ranged over the full spectrum of colours and tints, from violet right through to a light grey.
Rochelle could detect that Todd's lifeline and loveline were similar to hers, but did not rock the boat. His aura was a deep mystic blue, almost purple. This meant he was to inspire all the future of their teenage academy.
Unfortunately, Rochelle could not see her own aura, so she was still unmatched. One early success for their witchy dating service was that Rochelle and Todd successfully matched Jarryd with Bronte, who was also a very cute fan of Romance Services. She looked good in anything, even her school uniform. Jarryd and Bronte soon became a well-matched couple, they were both wrapped around each other.
The library sessions then became more popular, there were even lines at lunchtime for hopeful clients. Rochelle was becoming more skilled at palmistry, she did enjoy this change from her normal daily toils of classrooms and homework. This was the foundation of her abilities and good reputation as the high school's very own witchy woman.
Soon, most of their customers had a date for the big annual Spring dance. Romance might or might not have been looming for them all, but that was up to each couple. Rochelle ended up attending the dance reluctantly, as she did not have a date. Most of the boys thought she was more a bit weird, but she handled it well. Surprisingly, Todd stayed dateless. Nonetheless, all the girls had a really great time. Rochelle decided she never really knew what went on in any male brain, but some of their ideas were fun. She and Todd shared some dances and vibes, but he did ask lots of girls to dance. Nothing to get too pathetic about. Rochelle now carried peace with her, and wanted to write her next book, Recipe for Happiness.
